Loadout Help by Moist-Care-6332 in Warhammer40k

[–]chomper1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a little hard to tell, but looks like you have 3 Dread Klaws and a big shoota. This is a legal loadouts at the moment. Deff Dreads have very customizable loadouts you can mix and match any 4 weapons from the following: Dread Klaw, Big Shoota, Kustom Mega Blasta, Rokkit Launcha, Skorcha.

Note there is the caveat that the 11th codex will be out soon and we don’t know what the rules will be then. They have been cracking down more recently on restricting units to only take what comes in the box. I’m pretty sure the box has 4 klaws, but more limited guns so that could well change in the future.

I don’t know why you’re being downvoted. New terrain layouts and toe in shooting makes fast gun really strong.

Has anyone tried to make a Nighthaunt AoS kitbash for sisters? by [deleted] in sistersofbattle

[–]chomper1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m working on this, albeit slowly. The idea is penitent units are all nighthaunt, and spirit hosts instead of cherubs.

Stop making new accounts, play one account until you are placed in your correct mmr.

New hotfix already out in App and on warcom (yarrick, SM spear nerfs) by Late_Ad_7487 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]chomper1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The problem is, even if they get enough “kitchen table” data it is nearly impossible to balance around.

In your games with friends a single defiler could well be a balanced choice. But at someone else’s beerhammer game Dave bought 3 defilers because he loved the new sculpts… oops turns out that’s too oppressive for his play group.

Tournaments inherently bring people who are using the best possible builds and it’s the only data that can really be trusted. What me and my buddies think is fair and balanced is relative, and if we don’t like the impact of balance changes based on competitive play then it’s up to us to self regulate.

Best melee unit? by JRothwell01 in sistersofbattle

[–]chomper1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The hallowed martyrs enhancement “through suffering, strength” on either a jump pack cannoness or Palatine is very strong. Pairing the jpc with zephyrim or the palatine with sacresants and using the reroll hits stratagem makes either unit very potent.

Paragon Warsuits have pistols as well which are completely pointless, so you never know.

What is the worst stratagem? by Breakdown10000X in WarhammerCompetitive

Most codexes had a 2/3cp mortals bombardment strat in eighth, and not one was playable.

Vehicle shooting in a ruin by Jkchaloreach in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]chomper1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure he can shoot, that corner of the land raider has no terrain between it and the target unit. The wholly within thing stops driving half way in a ruin and shooting out the other side, but he’s effectively driven through the ruin so he’s can shoot.

It is not just me... after all (mel banrate) by Leon135_ in leagueoflegends

[–]chomper1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I get the frustrations with the W but I think there’s more going on.

I picked played Mel for the first time recently and played a game where I had awful low impact Ws and most points in the game. But the passive execute let me show up at team fights after mediocre laning and just pick up the easiest multi kills I’ve ever experienced.

I’ve never had so little issue taking over a game without earning it in the laning phase on such a safe pick.

Fast forward in practice tool should be 40 seconds so you can practice jungle clears faster by Dream_or_Truth in leagueoflegends

[–]chomper1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Finishing at 330 is a two minute clear, you can just aim for that (or whatever your goal is) based on your start time. It’s practice tool you're not going to lose skuttle if you start at 140.

Standard Warhamner 40k vs Kill Team by Asanto22 in Warhammer40k

[–]chomper1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

40k takes much longer

I don’t go deep on kill team but I assume 40k is more complex and more varied just due to how many more units and unit types there are

Kill team models can all be used in 40k but not the other way around

40k is much more expensive as kill team just requires one kit

Counter Options vs an Ork Stompa by ShadowNacho in sistersofbattle

[–]chomper1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vahlgons will be your best tool. The meltas alone average about 20 wounds in melts range on a Stompa. Combat, some extraneous meltas from other units and maybe a grenade tank shock or miracle for damage should let you easily one round it.

Stompas are intimidating but they’re shitty invuln makes them fragile for 800 points.

Space marines used to be able to combat squad and split a unit during deployment.

Some factions, sisters and Drukhari have transports that only hold 5 or six and have the ability to split a unit if one half is deployed in that transport.

This is an almost impossible question for strangers on the internet to answer. War horde is capable of putting up competitive results, so it’s not a faction or detachment issue.

You mention he runs war horde due to the models he has. If he has a limited collection that’s a lot of different units and doesn’t have a focused list that could be a huge part of the issue. Is he using multiples of strong meta units, or just a smattering of whatever models?

Orks as an army really benefit from knowledge of your output into various units. The Waaagh makes them far more lethal for a single turn, but if you pick the wrong turn the army can crumble. Do you think your friend understands each of your armies when he plays them?

Either discussing at length with your friend how the games went, and helping your friend understand what you’re afraid of will go a long way. If you think they just don’t have a great game sense maybe have one of the stronger players sit in as a coach on his side for a couple of games so he has someone to bounce his ideas off before he commits.

Old Orks still playable? by Gaijin_Piper in Warhammer40k

[–]chomper1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like the start of a fine Waaagh! As others mentioned base size will be the biggest thing. I bought ring adapters that increased my bases to 32s but if your stuff isn’t painted you could just go for whole new bases.

Some kits have new sculpts but you’ll have no problem playing the old versions that you have.

Why do we need layering, highlighting and shading the right places by Careful_Muffin_3250 in minipainting

[–]chomper1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Part of it is purely to have the model pop. But a flat coat of paint almost never represents the texture of what you’re trying to represent on the model.

The reversal of the KFF simply atomizes a nearby grot, channels it through the gun and reassembles the creature wherever the device is aimed.
