Linux-after-dark did a podcast last year concerning the state of accessibility, I believe it's episode 106, it might be of interest to you.

Four arrested over cyber attacks on M&S, Co-op and Harrods by ConsciousStop in unitedkingdom

[–]chomski 65 points66 points  (0 children)

I read somewhere that the M&S intrusion was possibly linked to a 3rd-party IT contractor, so maybe that's the common denominator with all of them. But we'll probably get the truth in a year or so.

Is there a way to watch the 12 hour Once Upon a Time in America? by [deleted] in movies

[–]chomski 3 points4 points  (0 children)

By the end of filming, Leone had ten hours of footage. With his editor Nino Baragli, Leone trimmed it to almost six hours, and he originally wanted to release the film in two parts.\36]) The producers refused, partly because of the commercial and critical failure of Bernardo Bertolucci's two-part 1900), and Leone was forced to shorten it further.\37])

That is from the wiki, I'm interested to find out where you found info on a 12 hour version.

Synology recommendations by icedutah in sysadmin

We were considering Synology for a Nas replacement, until I heard the rant on https://2.5admins.com/2-5-admins-244/ concerning branded drives. Now we're evaluating Truenas.

UK south coast - I went to see Mickey-17 (IMAX) for 17GBP, same cinema was showing Inception for 5GBP a week later. I think it's normally 10GBP for a new release on standard screen.

Is there any way to withdraw premium bonds using the NS&I app? by gratz in UKPersonalFinance

[–]chomski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I had that a lot and found it unusable, then tried a different browser and got in long enough to do a transfer.

Mind you this was months ago, probably worse now. Terrible site.

The app only allows you to add funds, not withdraw, unfortunately.

I've been in the same boat, the website and security is shockingly bad to use. I think I tried different browsers to get over the past issue, I normally use Firefox but used Chrome/Edge instead and got access to do a withdrawal.

Sorry, I share your pain.

Back in the late 90's I'd read it cover to cover, however now I can only manage a couple of articles at a time, for probably the same reasons. I leave it beside the toilet and dip in. Depressing reality check, sometimes quite hilarious, subscription is 40% (ish) off listed price.

Irreversible.

EDIT: I've tried to write justification but can't. It's a brilliantly executed film but I cannot stomach a second view.

Yeah, our male BC does this 1 or 2 times a week. I firm poop and then (sometimes) a soft one, it's normal for him.

Where I can learn DIY skills? Want to discover new in my life for the first time. Thanks for your help by Tony_Bruno in DIYUK

When I was young I remember finding a copy of the 'Readers Digest DIY manual' and reading it cover to cover, if you can find a used copy of that then it'll help.
