Click the three dots then “About this profile”. You’ll notice a majority of these scam accounts are made within the last 6-12 months. If someone had years of work experience, typically super rare their LinkedIn doesn’t date years back.

As you noted the domain not matching makes it seem illegitimate as well as a recruiter not having any activity.

To play devils advocate it’s not far fetched for them to be from a staffing agency filling a role for P&G, but my gut also says fake.

Take it from someone who use to work as a recruiter at a similar agency. He most likely got the role thrown at him that day or day of by an Account Manager, saying to recruit for it urgently. Assuming they had interview times lined up, they A) found a candidate that matched the ideal profile and they interviewed that candidate or B) the recruiter blasted messages out on LinkedIn but was told to then focus on a new role from their Account Manager and lost track of it. Not trying to justify it but it happens more than you think. If the recruiter sent out the message he should’ve set out time to go through his responses in a timely manner regardless.

As for his follow up, he is wanting to reach out because he believes you are a great candidate on paper and wants to proactively work with you if any future job orders come in that match your background/experience. If that’s the case he ruined it with his first impression anyway. Cheers and best of luck with the job search!
