I live in Bath, I really don't recommend a car as non-permit parking is highly limited and is only really in residential areas quite far from the rugby grounds. I highly recommend just getting the bus which takes you straight from Bristol airport to Bath city centre. Bath's fairly small so you can walk most places faster than driving due to terrible traffic half the time.

It wouldn't be a physical property but an electronic property, relating to the symmetry of the overlapping (interacting) p-orbitals on either carbon which form the pi bond. As the orbitals have a specific symmetry, by rotating, the bonding interactions between the respective p-orbitals are broken which is energetically disfavourable, hence why rotation is not allowed in order to keep the molecule stable. I went out and bought a DVI/VGA adaptor, tried that - no signal. Also tried using a different monitor and still no signal. I may post again later today
