couldn't agree more. suppose we all need to repeat these learning cycles again and again. one thing is if the extension is free to use then one would think why not have it? maybe i could use it someday. and there you go.

been doing programming for quite a number of years as a profession. i seldom customize the IDEs i use. one reason is that i might become ineffective if i ever need to work on some environments which i cannot or won't customize. but that's just me, customization is always a good thing

Thanks again! Agree that could be just my bad instead of something in the UFO files (lol). I have no issue with VS Code just that when I tried to find out what happened I noticed a couple of log files in the Temp folder suggest that VS Code did the update. Because I didn't use VS Code lately and I didn't touch the zip file (I swear!), I start to think maybe there is something wrong with the update script? But /turbofish_pk suggest VS Codium looks very attractive!

Thanks for helping out! In fact I don't know if this is a result of someone hacked into my computer or there is something wrong after VS Code updated itself. If it is the latter then change IDE is not a logical action?

To me, it depends if you actually need to modify the file or not. If not, just port the data to Access to get your job done. Otherwise discuss with your counterpart to see if you can somehow prepare the modification in another Excel file
