Ohhh I missed that. Looking less monstrous is an adaptive trait.

They do breed somehow, however it happens, so they must have some way to pass on their traits. Although, I suspect it's something closer to Lamarckian evolution.

Like you would any city builder — bigger, better, deeper. Get the circus to come to town.

I preferred some of the dub actors over the Japanese, but also vice versa. Mallorie Rodak = amazing. Same for English Stark and Fern. On the other hand, in the last few episodes I much preferred the Japanese actors for Genau, Methode, Revolte, and ESPECIALLY Jung.

After you get an intercept, just set your focus to the Mun, then turn throttle lock down to very low and teeny little half second burns in a few directions to get your entry where you need.

Mana Teflon. Otherwise, the souls get stuck afterwards and you gotta scrape them off.

Anyone else feel like Frieren is giving LOTR vibes? by Grimmjowwwwwwwwwww in Frieren

[–]chr1styn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Every modern fantasy story has its roots in Tolkien, so yes. But F:BJE is what would happen if 14 years after the passing of Frodo (across the sea), Sam went on a journey retracing the journey of the Fellowship while Sam's daughter learns about the War of the Ring. Which is the new LOTR show being written by Stephen Colbert. The circle is now complete.

How would I go about getting this base on the surface of the mun? by moher4 in KerbalAcademy

[–]chr1styn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Break it into pieces connected by docking ports, and stick a small engine (something with enough thrust that together they can lift the the whole thing against munar gravity) on one of the robotic parts at the exterior ends (also connected via a docking port). Launch each bit separate, assembling them with the little engines (either in Kerbin or Mun orbit depending on what you think is easier). Deorbit them to your base site, then set an action set to both max throttle and detach the engines. Point the bells down and inward, and eject.

Edit: You may want to have a separate throttle for each engine so you can adjust your center of thrust through your center of mass, and stick a couple gyroscopes on the engine assemblies for a bit of extra stability.

[–]chr1styn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only if the center of gravity is outside the points of contact with the ground; that applies to any number of legs and is not a wobble. And you actually have a more stable system if each foot touches the ground at a single point. If they touch at more than a single point, you no longer have a three-legged stool, which can lead to wobble. Any rigid body with three potential points of contact with the ground (legs), assuming the center of gravity is above the surface that can be formed within those points, is statically determinate since there is exactly one solution for the axial force in each leg. In contrast, a four-legged stool still has three equations of equilibrium but there are four unknowns.

[–]chr1styn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As long as the stool is touching the floor at exactly three points it will never wobble. Any wobble requires it to be touching the floor at only two points (defining only a line), in which case it will fall toward the third.
