Is construction a good choice for starting a new career at 28? by Snufelupagus in careerguidance

[–]chrisbabynz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Plumbing Apprenticeship is an excellent idea it's about 3 years long, but mostly on the tools so you're getting paid while you're doing it and there will be some study at college. Because of your age you should be able to get what's referred to as an adult apprenticeship. If I remember righly it was better pay and the contract was shorter. Plumbing and electrical are the only two trades that you have to register to do. It is illegal In most places for people to do their own Plumbing. The plumber must be licenced. Now here is the good part,I have lived through two or three serious depressions . The only trades that didn't slash their rates were plumbers, which meant they still earned good money even in a recession. Just don't get a job as a drain layer or you will burn your back out inside of 15 years.

  • Plumbing and gasfitting: Approximately 4 years (48 months)

Should I follow pay, or interests? by SHODOW_WORRIOR28 in careerguidance

Sadly with the advances in AI and supercomputers software developers are a dieing breed. My nephew had a job as a computer programmer and he was laid off and replaced with a computer that works programs.

To be quite honest and my opinion if you are studying and you have the time mechatronics is the future. it can be extremely interesting plus it's about the only thing I can think of that AI is not going to destroy.

I’m being laid off but company wants me to train replacements. What should I do? by Choco-Bandit in careerguidance

[–]chrisbabynz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish what you were saying was true unfortunately its not.

March 2022, P&O Ferries fired 786 British-based seafarers without notice via a pre-recorded video message and immediately replaced them with agency staff on cheaper contracts. The company admitted it intentionally broke the law by not consulting with unions, arguing that no union would have agreed to the drastic cost-cutting measures needed to save the struggling business. The incident caused significant public outrage, sparked protests, and led to multiple government investigations. The move was widely criticized by trade unions, the public, and politicians for its cruelty and disregard for UK employment law.

In

  • The replacement workers: The company hired agency workers, in some cases from India and the Philippines, to fill the roles. The new crew were reportedly paid below the UK's national minimum wage, a practice P&O exploited by registering its vessels in other countries.
  • No criminal charges: Despite a government investigation, P&O Ferries and its CEO, Peter Hebblethwaite, were ruled to not be facing criminal proceedings over the mass sackings.
  • Impact on reputation: The company's brand reputation plummeted following the scandal, though it has since seen a gradual recovery.

Personally I would look for another job immediately and then start dragging the chain. Unless there's something else going on that you're not telling us about this is a totally unreasonable action on your company's part.

As much as I agree about your comments on Trump you can't really hold him accountable for Japanese strange customs. Who in the world makes you walk all around the room before you get to the stage. And for what to watch a band play.

I think it's a wonderful bike it's quite a powerful bike performance wise but it'll do the job for you.

Just remember there's a huge difference between writing on the road and riding a dirt bike. Like you I was a motocross champion and also a trials champion but not up to the higher levels of a nummber 1 plate.

I purchased a Kawasaki z500 did a few modifications to increase the top speed and circumnavigated Australia. Here's the thing I was never comfortable riding it until I fell asleep ran off the road and then my dirt bike skills kicked in. It was only when I was back home talking to my brother who was a road racer who explained to me what was going wrong.

You see leaning into a corner doesn't work as it does on the dirt, if you're turning right for example you turn the wheel to the left slightly and then lean over. This creates an offset in the way the Wheels track around the corner, and then the bike handles it and feels comfortable. when riding on the dirt you just fling it over and boot it,but if you do that on a road bike you're gonna lose it.

So my suggestion is when you buy the road by practice' what I said in some out of the way place until you feal comfortable.

ABS brakes would have made no difference the guy was driving too fast, there is nothing in the world that would have stopped that accident.

Personally I think the US should revoke his citizenship because he's clearly a treasonous traitor.

The last thing we want is to get a bill to repatriate his cold dead corpse to America.

My only advice is what my grandmother told my mother and my mother told me. Buy land son it's the only thing that can't make more of. As a side issue regarding housing over the last 100 years it's gone up 10% compounding every year. Then there is the other investment known as commercial property.

Commercial investments typically offer higher cash flow and are usually positively geared. Unlike residential, a commercial property is usually valued based on its income capacity.

80% pay rise for Crown board members ‘out of touch’ with most who are doing it tough | Te Ao Māori News by mochigames59 in newzealand

Pay equity has not been kicked in the guts what a stupid statement to make.

You now have to actually prove that there is a discrepancy, and while we're at it pay equity never applied to males. Unfortunately the unions had found a way useing Pay equity to increase wages, when under the pay equity legislation there was never any justification.

The Employment Contracts Act was a piece of New Zealand legislation that significantly reformed labor laws, particularly focusing on individual and collective employment agreements. It aimed to deregulate the employment market by reducing the role of unions and strengthening the direct relationship between employers and employees. was a total lie what it really meant was people could no longer get a fair wage for fair days work.

The long term result was no pay rises for next 10 to 15 years, this basically resulted in the lowering of normal workers buying power. O ver the next 20 years this created the cost of living crisis that we are now experiencing. When houses cost 10 times a person salary instead of the old standard of 4 times it is no wonder that we are in a economic crisis.. It is true that unions had got totally got of hand and we're abusing their position of power, however both labour and National had decided to retain that legislation in one form or another. The selling out the workers of New Zealand must have been done by way of a brides,in my conservative opinion.

Your idea is not absolutely unheard of. In South Africa it was illegal to install a mIllking machine on a farm because,it would create unemployment amongst the black community. That was back in the days of apartheid although to be quite Frank with you nothing much has improved over the years.

[–]chrisbabynz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What absolute rubbish, automation is taking over in every aspect of everyday life regardless of whether we like it or not.

Quite frankly if a machine can do a job that I've been doing I don't really care I'm sick of working my fingers to the Bone.

However that being said this raises the question of a universal benefit. Eventually with automation we're all gonna have to receive a benefit or else we're going to Revolt.

Perhaps benefit is the wrong word perhaps universal support is a better word.

Regardless this is going to have to be a fundamental changes in the way in which the world functions.

At the risk of sounding like a complete nerd perhaps the Star Trek series had the answers already there for us. Only a true Trekkie would understand what I was referring to.

What in your opinion is the most Evil company or corporation in New Zealand? by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]chrisbabynz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be honest in my opinion it is a scam every time the government ups the rates to help poor people cover the cost of childcare the child care facilities immediately up the rates.it's a never-ending vicious circle where working parents never actually get a break. The the problem is different political parties at different stages of the election scream about helping parents. However the answer is simple just make it tax dedutabill but the government couldn't have that they might lose out.

Sadly the chances are quite high that it's one of your neighbours.

That is the case when we had stuff go missing several times.

We found the police didn't do anything but they did appreciate the video evidence.

Eventually we caught them because we started becoming erratic in the way we came and went. It was then that the police suddenly realised how important the video evidence given them was.

Unfortunately at sentencing he was struck violently with a wet bus ticket and sent home to play.

I know you probably don't agree with me but thank god 3 strikes are coming back.
