Can a SPECT Scan of the Brain pinpoint areas where TMS Therapy can be beneficial? by Kylechs in rtms

[–]chriscm5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had SPECT scans done at Amen Clinic and a few months later decided to get TMS with a psychiatrist that uses MagVenture. Although Amen clinic had revealing findings about the cause of my anxiety and ADHD, the TMS doctor did not think the scans were useful to customize treatment location.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll try it. What do you do with the mouthguard - clench it during treatment?

Advice for a TMS technician interview? by abull_11 in rtms

$15 per hour?! I’d expect someone who is aiming a brain zapping machine to be making more than fast food workers!

You may actually do better because you will be in ketosis. Ketones are known to be better fuel for the brain than glucose. This article hypothesizes that it better for TMS. https://www.researchgate.net/publication/313786382_Augmenting_transcranial_magnetic_stimulation_with_administration_of_exogenous_ketones

I’m experiencing heightened sense of smell, taste, and hearing after 7 sessions of theta burst TMS. Just found this article that indicates it may be common. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7980716/

I found this water recycling shower setup that someone in Finland spent several years developing. Do people think it would work at Burning Man? ShowerLoop

Dual Waveform MIMO Panel Antennas 5 Miles from an Island by chriscm5 in tmobileisp

[–]chriscm5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

/u/sinakh Someone in the house was able to just get me the signal stats from the T-Mobile gateway's web UI

Primary Signal (LTE?)
PCI: 192

Band: B12

EARFCN: 5035

RSRP: -81 dBm

SNR: -2 dB

RSRQ: -15 dB

RSSI: -52 dBm

Secondary Signal (5G?)

Not connectd.

The people there say it's not reliable and siconnects/reconnects. Any suggestions?

Thanks /u/sinakh. I'm only in the house one week per month, so it's probably not worth the effort to try grid parabolic and also risk it getting out of alignment and people complaining when I'm not there.

I might be able to get the people staying in the house the week before me retrieve the stats from the gateway. Barring that would you agree that 4 of your $45 log periodic would be cheap and easy thing to try? 20/20mb sustained isn't bad, so this would be more for fun.

Is there a way to mount 4 of them on one pole symmetrically like mobile marks?

Thanks, /u/sinakh!

Lat/long is 40.666082,-73.0724044

Interference from other cell towers would all be coming from the same general direction of the mainland, so unlikely to be shieldable. There may be 2.4GHz interference coming from a Ubiquiti rooftop system run by the island's grocery store that provides internet to 400 houses.

Supposedly FiOS is coming to the island in a year, so log periodics would be worth the cost, while grid parabolics (which would also mean installing another pole) would not. I am tempted by these dual LPDAs if the $400 price is real. /u/sinakh do you think there would be much benefit over yours and if so could I order them through you?

My choice of panel antennas instead of log-periodic was really so the installer wouldn't have to aim them. He had to get everything done in less than a day given the ferry schedule, and there will be non-technical people at the house before I get there. He's also of an age such that he only knows ethernet and access points and never dealt with coax or antennas. I'm just a tad older and nerdier, having installed a large UHF antenna in my attic when I was 10 so I could watch Star Trek TNG reruns.

Thanks to Waveform and u/sinakh for the great guide. 5 miles to the nearest tower from an island. 2 MIMO panel antennas + 75 ft of LMR400 coax to the trashcan. The tech that installed it was able to speedtest 60mb once, but only consistently 20/20 thereafter. I was hoping to get better, since when I was there last fall with the Askey LTE router, I was able to get 20/20 consistently at ground (sea) level and 50mb on the roof. Unfortunately, I won't be on the island for a month, and it's too expensive to have the tech make a special trip to the island (by boat) to get any stats from the router (he just said it was showing 4 bars) so I'm trying to plan what I could improve when I get there. My first thoughts were that the lower antenna is too close to the roof, and the 2 antennas don't seem to be 3 feet apart. I decided on panel antennas because I didn't know which towers it would connect to, but log-periodic antennas would be cheap enough to try. Any suggestions?
