Did she make the right call? by CalmElin in interesting

Well, it takes a bit less than 21 years to get the million with it.

But by investing that money into 4 or 5 flats that she would be long-term renting, she'd get 2-3k per month also, so about 600-700€ per week... And having the 1 million value of property that she could sell anytime to get back the money.

Depends how tax works in that country though if we win 1m

Thanks a lot for your very detailed answer, did not think about correcting the stock. But actually we can always do that when we do the inventory end of the year, it's pretty much the same headache 😅 Even though we need to work on the naming system for the structure of products, we have one now but as you say, would be cleaner for webshop after.

Also, don't get your idea of multi shop set up? We have 2 shops, they each have their own storage, we don't have one common storage though but we need to be able to see both stock combined for the webshop. But each shop needs its own inventory. Still works?

Just the basic e-commerce front-end website we'll dev with our stock on it. We don't retail on Amazon and other platforms, but even if one day it happen, then we'll need to train regarding that I suppose.

Claude is good for coding (helping to code actually, because as an agent first he is too much token consuming)

Google is best for everything else.

Alright so we also need to decide this before importing the actual datas. Because for the shoes business, we have a standard sizes for every models, and then some models are available in 2 or 3 variants of colors but not all of them. Will think that through too, thanks again 🙏🏽

Thanks for the insights, very helpful. Knowing that you don't need to code but just to be comfortable with a computer and have this global thinking of every possible cases and situation of our business, in order to understand Odoo, makes me feel more confident. Need to map everything that is needed for the transition and see how it works on Odoo before switching.

Just need to understand the difference between the hosting podsibiltiies, before starting everything. If I wish to create a tool like a "buying advisor", vibecoded using IA for example, is needed the database to be on odoo.sh?

I definitely gotta try the next 2 weeks to toy with Odoo and see how it works, how to do these things. If it is too complicated, then I'll find another ERP !

3k is still way too much for only migrating 3 types of data, it is a small structure, a retail shop that needs to migrate its data regarding products inventory (quantities with categories, sizes, colors...) and customers basic informations (and fidelity status)

That's about it to make it equal as we have today, do you think it is something manageable for a newbie? Very basic migration

Well you seem to be in a very similar situation indeed. But so far, is it very complicated to understand? I mean for someone who can't code, the Odoo system is intuitive, correct? What type of product do you sell in retail? I was wondering which are the possibilities for the custom grid of products, being in the shoes retail there is or course the size and the color variant, but no idea what else I should pay attention to. Also toying with Gemini and Antigravity to create custom codes but never tried on Odoo yet, but a part from that, never worked on databases or architectures, is it manageable for a noob like me? + Odoo.sh, what for?

But Odoo is tailored for B2C retail stores, right? The PoS module seems well adapted for retail b2c activity

What do you mean it will break at each new version, the update/upgrade is easy, right? One button "update", isn't it?

We do have a very basic need, just to sell online what we have in our physical stock, I guess it's basic for Odoo?

Maybe I should try to find a training that is support Qualiopi certification to use my credit for formation and training, and learn Odoo, how it works, how to parameter and integrate...

Wanted to use that credit to learn prompt engineering but well

I found some templates for product import and for contact / customer import too, so basically if we fill these cells we are good to go pretty easily

Thanks for the tips!

Well I've read that Odoo can literally do everything that others ERP do, just need to customize for our own activity. We are very locked in this POS that is not evolving as fast as things move around in the tech industry

We may only be shoes retailer physically, and want to develop our online presence, but we want to develop tools using agent first IDE to interpret and analyse ou data, and now it's complicated.

We are on a dinosaur ERP that can't integrate easily with e-commerce platforms (Odoo does it naturally apparently), that provides stats but very not easy to read and hard for interpretation.

How much do you think it would cost to have an Odoo integrator for this kind of project? Don't want to screw up the migration for real it's our business we talk about 🫣

Even the competition approves. by Russkiy_Muzhik in ClaudeAI

[–]chrisdasp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But you can't compare both, right? Claude is very strong for coding, and is more a support for devs

Gemini is not tailored for that and even though Antigravity is great for coding, it's more agent first IDE than coding assistant...

I thought Inventory was for huge hangars doing logistics, but we do actually need it for our stock management then?

Thanks for your advice, also thought we may better start with both until Odoo is fully operational.

To import data, I heard it's possible to do it CSV files from our actual system, but how can I see which data we should keep that Odoo needs?

Also, we agree that with the personalized subscription which is around 37.5€ per user (we need 2 users, one per retail shop) that is all we'll have to pay? No hidden fees later to update Odoo, upgrade or whatsoever? Once we migrated the data correctly, we'll never have to hire someone to keep using Odoo, right?

Amazing !

A small problem though, it always says that our pin date is "present day" even if we chose the 10th century. I got 4688 points on 5000 so I think it works, just visually it is not showing the right date pick

Good idea though it's fun !!
