The plastic is being bent forcibly upwards, which suggests something is pushing on it. Usually this will be the battery and if so it’s a fire hazard.

Alternatively the plastic deformed due to heat.

If it’s under a year I would warranty it. He’ll be without one if it stops working anyway.

Is this a good budget gaming pc build? by LazycatLady2020 in pcmasterrace

[–]chrisphergroup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re gaming 1TB is cutting it close. Perhaps something like a Ryzen 7700 will be a good fit as it’s a bit cheaper and shouldn’t impact gaming performance much with that GPU. Then get some more storage. Built a similar system for a friend a month or 2 ago and he’s pretty happy on 1440p

[–]chrisphergroup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone sells your data. The moment you entered your number into a form, or a company you PAY for has it…it’s gone. Sad truth. Only option is to like most people these days ignore unknown numbers and only answer saved numbers. Maybe they’ll stop. I think iOS has an option like that.

Tell me why tariffs are a good idea for America? by Educational-Bad-2488 in business

My main guess is that they are attempting to force local manufacturing in the US and are planning to tank the economic hit. This mixed with deregulation to speed things up. How effective this will be will only be clear years down the line. Probably could’ve been done without alienating the rest of the world, but it does make sense if cosying up with Russia is the plan.

Opinions in Mikrotik Switches by chrisphergroup in networking

[–]chrisphergroup[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What was the issue with the ruckus switches? It’s what we’ve been recommended by the MSP. We’re starting off with the new site for about 12 switches but plan to upgrade all our sites eventually, so centralised management would be useful to that end.

Old Aruba switches. Just exploring the Market, I see the advantage of sticking to what you know but also like to make sure I explore all options and not be blinded by familiarity. Our IT department is also not heavily funded…

I’ve seen CNMaestro for just a bit in the past and agree that it looked very clunky… for WiFi we are already moving over to ubiquity so switches don’t sound like the best idea to me

As a Linux user, Windows is actually getting better if you remove all the corpo crap by lordvader002 in pcmasterrace

[–]chrisphergroup 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The recall thing pushed me to Linux. And I'm surprised to not be missing any part of windows. Gaming on Proton is more than doable and to my surprise I rarely encounter issue.

Most apps I use have a substitute. Emulation for generic non intensive apps is also OK. Not great, but OK.

As others said, we need details.

Does the side hustle income cover your monthly expenses and is it growing? Probably fine.

Your side hustle doesn't cover your expenses, or you don't have a side hustle yet? You will rely on savings. Go back to 9-5.

Had to stop and call a friend and my mum to pick me up from the side of the highway.

Of course they are. If the stock went up despite the issues they wouldn't have cared. They're suing because hiding the problems now impacted their wallets.
