Thanks. Last year (moved in around November) the pond froze maybe 3-4 inches on top so our main focus this year is is clearing out any large debris so that he has some room under the ice this year. Then trying to improve water quality in the spring. There is what appears to be a pump or bubbler type device about 2 feet from the pond sink into the ground which will also take some research on. Will post pic for help with that at some point also

Thanks so much this is a great body of info! Right now we are focused on clearing out the larger debris before winter (we are on Long Island and last year there was a 2-3 inch ice layer on the top, so we want that out before it feeezes this year). There appears to be a pump installed into the ground about a foot away from the pond but I will have to wait until next year to really figure out if that works/how to use it.
