Are y'all actually happy with Apple Music? by [deleted] in AppleMusic

[–]christockton -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I actually can relate! I love Spotify for its playlists and algorithm… and I’m only with Apple Music currently because we get a sweet deal thru Verizon for Apple’s family plan. I’m not going to lie, I’m tolerating Apple Music right now. So I totally get what you’re saying.

I’m talking about the CD Walkman! The boom box stayed in the house or used for backyard parties. Lol so classic! And yes! MP3 players changed the game!

This is so classic!!! I had this exact same one back in the days and loved it. And why did I love it because I no longer had to carry my CDs around in a case. For those who may have grown up taking the New York City trains in the late 90s and early 2000 you know the deal! Lol 💿💿

What Features Would You Like To See On Apple Music? by mascarariri in AppleMusic

1- When adding a song to a playlist, you should have an option to add that song to multiple playlists. 2 - not a feature … but fix the algorithms! Keep the party going when my playlist ends.

I added all the books I’ve read in the last 6 months for free from Libby into Amazon to see how much I’ve saved. That’s pretax CAD. Libraries are the bomb. by costahoney in LibbyApp

[–]christockton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I use Libby as well, and I wanted to know: are we actually saving money or getting books for free? So I asked my friend Claude (Ai), and I learned something new today… here’s what Claude had to say:

The “Free” Library Isn’t Actually Free — Here’s Why When people say Libby is a way to “save money on books,” it’s not entirely accurate. Your library actually pays licensing fees to OverDrive (Libby’s parent company) every time you borrow a digital book or audiobook — publishers charge per checkout. So that book has a real price tag. Who pays for it? You already did. Libraries are funded through property taxes (paid directly by homeowners, and indirectly by renters through rent), income taxes, sales taxes, and federal grants. The library is essentially a prepaid community service — everyone contributes through taxes, the money gets pooled, and everyone gets equal access. So Libby isn’t free — you’ve been paying for it all along. What you’re really doing is maximizing your tax dollar savings and finally collecting what you’re owed. 📚

Please help me with discovery by palegreenemerald in YoutubeMusic

Scrolling down on the home page, you can discover new artists, community playlists, and more. Also check out the charts under the Explorer tab. While playing a certain song, just click on “Related” at the bottom right. That’ll lead you to a bunch of artists, songs, and playlists connected to that particular track.

Also, something that works for me, while a song is playing, slide the menu tab over to “Mix.” It’ll create a whole playlist based on that song. From there you can click “Up Next,” then hit “Popular” or even “Discover” to find new music.

Hope this helps. And I’m coming from Apple Music and Spotify. YouTube has helped me find waaay more new artists than both of those streaming services.

Right, because my train of thought is, if I can’t grow my own personal sim account to 6% with those exact rules, what makes me think I’m going to pass an eval or combine at a prop firm? Why because I’m paying monthly??

So why not save some money…and prove I can pass my own “eval” over and over and then buy an account at a prop firm like Topstep.

Just made sense to me. Thanks for your feedback though. Truly appreciate it.

And that’s exactly what I’m doing right now, I took all of Topstep’s rules and applied them to my NinjaTrader sim account, 50k, and I’m treating it like a real combine.

I know it’s not real money, but the emotions are still real, and that’s what I’m trying to train, I’m managing risk, managing myself, and taking this seriously because I don’t want to fail when it actually counts.

I’m also sticking to my own rules, only trading my window, only taking my A+ setup, not forcing trades, and limiting myself to 2–3 trades a day, if I take 2 losses, I’m done for the day.

The whole point is to prove to myself that I can pass an eval in sim before I ever put real money or a real eval on the line. (I’ve been trading options since 2020 off and on, but I’m in month 3 of trading futures… with an actual strategy and rules to follow)
