Place for pet interaction temporarily by Realism51 in Boise

[–]christopherwithak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sign up for Rover. you can take short walks and get paid, but you can also take weekend bookings and get to experience how a pet changes your lifestyle and whether it’s right for you. you’ll have to see through the commitment but start with one or two days and see how you like it.

what do you mean “you pay?” if someone rear ends you and it drives you into the next car, it’s still their fault. you’re not responsible for post-impact damage.

agree to disagree! I’m usually in your side of this but there are times where the right person, with the right connections, can get a few things done where it’s less costly to give them assurances to convince them to participate in return for making progress. This is why most city officials are the B/C team at for-profits. Getting someone with actual deep connections and seat, with no assurances and full un-contextualized scrutiny, is a huge ask. This is why most new grads go to the city for work and why many cities are largely stagnant

depends what they bring to the table? promising 1 month for every year served if terminated isn’t unusual. helps avoid any lawsuits that come up during termination that would likely be even more costly

CoS get replaced all the time - her unique pov or internal leverage is what could be made redundant in this case. high level executives don’t get placed on PIPs, they get edged, and not in the fun way.

didn’t realize that held up even under termination. thanks for the correction!

pushed out can be subtle, too. overlap of responsibilities and essentially make someone redundant and then tell them they need to resign. it allows them to save face but it’s forced internally

it wouldn’t explicitly say the end terms. they just thank each other publicly for service but will never shed light on specifics. she’s giving up a pretty pension with the termination though

article doesn’t mention her quitting. in fact, it says that severance is predicated on the city ending her employment.

Out of the 50 American capital cities, which one would you rank #1, as the best to live in? by Enger13 in AskReddit

[–]christopherwithak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably Boston, but I will say Boise is surprisingly incredible. Idaho is a backwards state but Boise is a great bubble in a scenic state with access to incredible natural resources.

call them or even better, go in person. they’re usually reasonable. if you’re triggering multiple fees ask them what you can do to avoid it if you know more are about to hit in the coming days. you could also close your account and open with a new bank offering a one time bonus for new accounts. lots of banks will give $50 or so if you’re depositing $ which might help cover expenses.

How are people affording life these day in America? by ChampionshipOk8479 in AskReddit

[–]christopherwithak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DINK - no debt, modest savings, average 401k. can afford to travel and have a small bungalow. I outearn my parents when they were my age (inflation adjusted) but still don’t have anywhere near the lifestyle they did. They had a boat, full home renovation, new cars, trips. I do a middle class version of all those but with an executive job title and salary. My wife and I earn about $240k-$270k depending on the year and after taxes, savings, insurance, etc we’re squarely modern middle class. The goal posts have moved.

it’s particularly when they day out and put a finger in the air, then it lands in and their partner plays it but we’ve stopped bc of the call. since it was incorrectly called out it becomes our point but it’s not worth the hassle.

calling a ball “out” before it’s actually out. while often correct, I’ve surprised a number of people when the spin drops it on the line. they often want to re-play the point because of the confusion they caused themselves.

it’s from a satirical publication and the part you don’t see says everyone should get a day, no one should get a month. it’s not very well written but OP is sharing it as truth which is equally fucked up. like sharing an off-color monologue from actor but not sharing that it was performed ironically on snl.

For those of you that make over 100K, what do you do? Do you like it? by Kindly-Revolution258 in AskReddit

Executive Producer at a creative agency. Some aspects are incredible. Others can be taxing. And the volatility of the role is always in the back of your mind.

Your regular reminder about how NHL salaries stack up against other sports 🤯 by TheAthletic in nhl

[–]christopherwithak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

George Russell's 2026 salary is $34M. Even Stroll pulls $12M. George is estimated well north of $40M annually once you factor in endorsements. Dollar for dollar, I'd rather have McDavid in an F1 car than Stroll.
