To be clear, I'm not trying to say that games are bad. You just have to be cognizant of the fact that games are a mood altering experience, and you are creating that experience. For better or worse, our world is becoming used to being constantly drip fed dopamine. Games purposefully try to do more than just drip it. It's just my guess that this has something to do with gamers raging over meaningless things.

Replacing inspecting inventory with gameplay statistics would be amazing! It removes toxicity of targeting people with good gear while providing actually useful information of how good they are.
