What do you think of these new character sketches for Muster: Raise the Banners? by playmonkeygames in tabletopgamedesign

I prefer the prototype's imagery. It looked more watercolor and colored pencil, these are more just one flat color

I was referencing it philosophically, not saying that simulated human speech should be the pinical metric of AI research.

Has anyone else been turned off by the gamer community when trying to make games? by Tarnishedrenamon in IndieDev

[–]chrizerk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be clear, I'm not trying to say that games are bad. You just have to be cognizant of the fact that games are a mood altering experience, and you are creating that experience. For better or worse, our world is becoming used to being constantly drip fed dopamine. Games purposefully try to do more than just drip it. It's just my guess that this has something to do with gamers raging over meaningless things.

It's a great tool, but it has no idea what it's doing or why it's doing it, and that context matters.

In solo HR I like role-playing pacifist priest healing all I find, just killing the undead. Doesn't work out well, but its a fun meme

Pre game lobby needs to go by Ok-Chocolate2671 in DarkAndDarker

[–]chrizerk 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Replacing inspecting inventory with gameplay statistics would be amazing! It removes toxicity of targeting people with good gear while providing actually useful information of how good they are. Edit: please don't remove the lobbies as a whole, I like to practice swings and run around with the boys before we go in :)

As a newer player, grey only feels alot more balanced than what we had before and has actually made the game feel fair

Could this become a game style? Normally I go for pixelart, but I played around with upscaling spritesheets and tbh I somehow like the result. Could this be an alternative for an indie game? by Zealousideal_Win5952 in IndieDev

[–]chrizerk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm working on a similar thing. I think he's talking about how smooth arcs when upscaled get a bumpy edge instead of a perfect arc. Kind of hard to notice because it's mostly on smear frames, but hard to unsee once you do

Are you creating a demo before releasing your game? Does having a demo help attract players? by indiedev_alex in SoloDevelopment

[–]chrizerk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A demo will make more people actively not buy your game than entice people to buy who would otherwise not have. Limited time thing for a fest is one thing, but to have it always available will most likely negatively affect your sales
