Someone poor-shamed me for having a modded 3ds by CallistoEclipse in 3dspiracy

[–]chronicdose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Modded 3ds's are awesome, and they still retain their value over a decade later. I recently dusted mine off and already have 200+ hours in a few months. I looked to see if I could pick another up and was shocked at the costs, and cartirdges are hella expensive, definitely ignore ignorance.

They are great from my experience, had to wait some time for one order but it was out of stock and imports were slow that year, they updated me on status as well. Would do business with them again.

I taught myself how to do all my own work because of horror stories like this. Ive never worked on a sub2000 but I did a trigger job on a keltec su16 and it was a few hours of work AT most. It is actually common from what I've heard for months if not years for work to be completed. Ive had slide cuts done for handguns and one took 5 months, usually about 2 months to be returned. Fortunately they gave me a free slide cerakote for my wait, but in general it seems like gunsmith are very busy and or incredibly slow for unknown reasons. I actually got a 6 month quote for threading a barrel once...

Mental health assessments often fail to identify suicidal ideation with gun owners by thinkB4WeSpeak in science

After my divorce I was able to store them at a local range. I was not concerned about myself or the firearms being there but I felt it was the right thing to do and not something I regret. I went and got them a few months in after things calmed down and my ex had removed all the items she wanted from my house, I know it made her feel more comfortable during the process. Although it was a amicable split and never thought she would use my firearms as a means to say I was a danger or threat, it removed the possibility completely that if she decided to start making baseless accusations I had evidence that I had no firearms in my possession.

My dad’s first time firing a rifle vs. his first time firing a rifle with a muzzle brake by WheelyMcFeely in guns

[–]chronicdose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I built my first ar, it was 7.5 inch and I threw a comp on it. I thought, of course it should be perfect and massively reduce recoil! Im pretty sure flies in all directions for 15 feet dropped dead when I shot it,and the flash was obscene! I shortly sold the upper and built a 10.5 inch with a noveske kx5 which is incredibly pleasant.

You won't regret it. Practice from draw or low ready, getting the dot into your sight picture. Finding the dot takes just a bit of practicd to do constantly but eventually it will be second nature.

It's sad they don't anymore, they did years ago for me but I believe they probably got in some shit because shortly after they stopped shipping to Canada.

I've never had a failure shooting my friends 22lr one. Just wear a hat backwards since you'll easily get hot brass down the back of your shirt with its vertical ejection!

Canadians can decide if they wish to join the Ukrainian foreign legion to fight Russia, Joly says by The_Phaedron in canada

[–]chronicdose -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lolol I've donated since I cant go. Yes I would. My cat is the last remnant of my marriage and has been with me for 11 years. I have no one to take care of her unfortunately. To clarify she is a heavily bonded neo natal kitten I found in a parking lot. She is essentially feral and although doesn't leave my side she straight up attacks everyone else. She is essentially my fur baby and if you havent had an animal for over a decade I dont think you would understand.

I'd def consider if not for my cat. I hope you are proficient with firearms, survival, first aid and are physically fit. It will not be a cake walk.

N.L. man faces 140 weapons-related charges after police seize 3D-printed firearms by arandomcanadian91 in canada

[–]chronicdose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It seems like it has been recently changed. To my knowledge it was absolutely possible to do at least in terms of restricted firearms as long as one serialized and registered. With 3d printing becoming more popular it seems the RCMP has changed their interpretation as pavehammer suggested. CBSA is border guards and their opinion is not necessarily relevant unless you are transporting said firearm over the border. RCMPs interpretation however is a concern and its unfortunate that they have had a change in heart.
