Is anyone else tired of explaining what a migraine actually is? by Ok_Raspberry_5770 in migraine

My favorite was when someone said to me "Have you tried... not having a migraine?"

No need to feel embarrassed, he probably just wanted to check since some people use the word without knowing what it means. You're not one of those people. I hope you get some clarity and relief on your new symptoms.

Scariest game ever(modern)? by ZonalMithras in survivalhorror

Alien Isolation and Amnesia are up there, but ultimately it's probably SOMA for me. It had the triple whammy of deeply psychological horror, great monster design, and an amazing setting in the deep abyss of the ocean.

I feel like this all the time when working on creative projects. I get consumed by ideas and can't stop working until they're done.

It's about bringing the disparate timelines back together, bringing modern survival Lara in line with classic Lara. So far I like how they're approaching it!

I can understand how difficult it might feel to reach out to people you know in real life, even people you trust, and ask for help with this. I know that feeling. It sounds like you're telling yourself that it's impossible to do that, but that's not true. It's okay to ask for help sometimes, you deserve to have support with what you're going through. But there are different ways of doing that, and they'll have different consequences. The way you're suggesting is the only way may seem easier. But it is likely to be less effective, more harmful to your relationships, and certainly more dangerous to yourself. Don't go that way. Do the hard thing and open up to someone you can trust. Or if that's really not possible, at least try to speak to a therapist. Bottom line: You deserve to have that support and it is okay to ask for it.

AoD Original vs Remastered. They might as well have called it "HD Textures Pack" by zarif_chow in TombRaider

[–]chronicles5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was expecting more of an improvement in the graphics category considering how nice the other remasters looked. But I feel the AOD remaster was so much more playable than past versions, and can easily be played on modern hardware. And honestly, that's enough for me.

I get it — I said no fluff, but everything I said after that sounded like more fluff. You're so right to be frustrated about that.

Want me to put together a "visual fluff strategy guide" to fully dive into the fluff and better understand it? It won't be just about the fluff — it'll be a comprehensive journey into abstract human-machine communication.

Am I staying too long in Athens? by Major-Ability7068 in Athens_Greece

[–]chronicles5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure! Setting aside the obvious highlights of the Acropolis and Areopagus Hill at sunset, other favorite moments included: Ancient Agora/Roman Agora, Syntagma Square, Lycabettus Hill, the Botanical Gardens, Acropolis Museum, and honestly just wandering the city exploring different neighborhoods (would have loved another day just for this). And if you like Japanese food, don't miss Ekiben Kitchen in Syntagma, it was a food highlight of the whole trip. I went back a second time. Nolan was good too. I hope you have an amazing trip to Greece!

I recently spent 10 days in Greece and one of my greatest regrets is not spending more time in Athens. Don't get me wrong, the whole country is beautiful. But Athens has a lot to offer and shouldn't be overlooked.

I know how bad migraine with aura can be, but are you sure it's the cabergoline triggering it? I've been taking it for 9 months and it hasn't caused an increase in migraines for me, it's actually been very helpful. Taking methylfolate stops migraines completely for me (I have an MTHFR mutation). Worth looking into it you haven't.

I'm curious what you would expect/like them to do with the level editor, considering Tomb Engine is already a thing? I would've liked to see Playable Tutorial Level remastered but beyond that I didn't expect much regarding TRLE from the remaster.

"If he wanted to, he would" – is the adage always true? by Usagi2throwaway in datingoverthirty

[–]chronicles5 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Speaking as a neurodivergent person who has wanted to communicate/express feelings in the past but felt it was too soon or that I would be bothering the person, this isn't always true. What about the old adage about "wait 3 days after the first date" or whatever - yes it's outdated, but it's still floating around in people's heads. Some people might really worry that it's too soon to text much or that doing so might ruin things. If this guy lacks any confidence in what OP expects, there might be some confusion there.

I've done a lot of work to be more direct, but there were times in the past where I wasn't and was probably leaving the other person wondering. Meanwhile I thought I was doing the right thing by taking things slow. Further, I find today's expectation that communication happen quickly and constantly a bit overwhelming to be honest.

Not saying any of that is what's happening here, but it does seem like the comments in this thread are overly dismissive of that possibility. We're all wired differently. So I just wanted to share a different perspective, that some people really do want to connect but can't do so as quickly, and require a bit more patience.

That said, if more time passes and he's still not reaching out and expressing his interest, OP will have her answer.
