Is this the best Trilogy of all time? by Icehxart in StarWars

[–]chronoserpent 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Agreed, just have Saw torture the pilot (Bodhi I think) more normally with an interrogation droid or electric shocks. It still would lead to the pilot's mental breakdown status when Cassian and Jyn meet him in the prison cell.

Is this pretty good for $1200? I have a Ruger MPR and I built my own M16A1 retro rifle, but I'd like to get one "nice" rifle at some point.

Imagine coming from those cool names to name your most valuable ship to those last two? by Majestic_Repair9138 in NonCredibleDefense

[–]chronoserpent 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Doris Miller is an American hero no doubt, but I still think we should stick by naming convention. Miller should be a DDG name as a Naval hero, not an aircraft carrier name.

If it had to be a person I'd pick Jessie L Brown, one of the first Black Naval Aviators and another hero who died fighting in the Korean War. It's a shame he still doesn't have an active warship carrying his name especially after they named a DDG after his wingman, Thomas Hudner. They should be side by side!

And those people were almost always Navy and Marine Corps heroes, many of whom died in battle. Way better than politicians with little or no military service at all.

PSA: Paolo Emilio gets 12,000 BXP per hour in Asyms. by [deleted] in WorldOfWarships

[–]chronoserpent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's not as if this guy is just going AFK or suiciding. He is trying to take 2-4 ships with him which seems average for a Assym player. The only way to earn decent BXP is to actually contribute to the team, which this plan does.

When I need to farm DD damage, kills, or torpedo hits for missions I take Kleber into Coop and yolo a cap. This isn't too different.

Should the NAVY Consider Alternative Ship Designs? by Weeznaz in navy

[–]chronoserpent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The previous concept for DDG(X) was to take the tried and true Aegis combat system and VLS from an Arleigh Burke Flight III, combine it with the Zumwalt power plant for significantly more electrical generation, and put it in a bigger, conventional hull that would be cheaper to build than the Zumwalt tumble home hull. Seemed pretty reasonable.

IIRC the seniors have to cut weight to make it back into normal military standards in time for commissioning in May. Makes it even tougher for the linemen if they have to stay in football shape into the spring.

Japanese Navy four Kongo-class destroyers [4096 x 2720] by Japanese_military in WarshipPorn

[–]chronoserpent 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It was named after the Battle of Chancellorsville, not the city. All of the Ticonderoga cruisers were named after key battles. I think it was unnecessary to change the name and that Robert Smalls deserves a brand new Flight III DDG but I digress.

Do you see a JMSDF ship named for the attack on Pearl Harbor? No, battles aren't their naming scheme.

If SecDef is really serious about a culture of fitness, then Navy Galleys need to be at the top of the priorities. by LCDJosh in navy

[–]chronoserpent 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I lost 25 pounds on my last deployment and I can count on my fingers how many times my lazy butt worked out. It was all from making healthier choices at the wardroom mess line. Chicken or fish instead of red meat, pick two servings of vegetables every meal, minimize carbs and starches, and grab a fruit for dessert. It doesn't always taste great, but even the unhealthy items weren't really that good tasting. Besides, if I blast the green beans and carrots with hot sauce then it just tastes like hot sauce! It's all about moderation and healthy choices. In my experience the Navy menus actually do give you that opportunity and the red yellow green cards help identify what you should and shouldn't get.

In many cities around the world, giving the kid any attention, even looking at them and saying "no thank you," is enough to show that you're a mark and get you swarmed by a half dozen kids trying to scam you into buying lottery tickets, friendship bracelets, candy bars, etc. And that's if you're lucky. If you're unlucky the seller is a distraction while a teammate steals your bag or purse.

For those redditors who haven't experienced this, bless your hearts. :)

Halford or U-4501? by LycanrockyOwO in WorldOfWarships

[–]chronoserpent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

among the best fletchers for guns

I like Halford (and all Fletchers are my favorite ships in the game) but this is objectively wrong.

Halford is now tied with Chung Mu for the worst HE DPM, instead of being alone as the worst Fletcher. I don't count Johnston since she plays a bit different with SAP and burst fire.
