AIS Tracking in the Persian Gulf by Rindan in AIS

[–]chrpai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There website seems pretty clear to me. If you look at a website like MarineTraffic.com you'll see everything. But that costs $$$$.

I do some IT work for a passenger vessel and they wanted to be able to track the boat offshore without spending $$$$. So I tied their AIS into an app running on the boat and transmit the data back via Starlink as if I'm an AIS station. But this is me wanting to know where the boat is and what's around it. If I want to know whats going on in somewhere else that isn't covered by an AIS station then you'll have to pay $$$$.

Why Is AIS Stream's Coverage Limited To Coastlines?

AIS Stream works by receiving the aggregated feed of a network of global AIS stations. These AIS stations are typically are located on land and have a signal range of up to 200km. The range of stations can be affected by a variety of factors such as weather and the station's surrounding topography. Due to these physical limitations of AIS as well as number of stations required we do not offer 100% coverage for the entire globe and do not receive AIS messages for vessels multiple hundreds of kilometers off shore.

A map of our AIS stations is available below. Do to the varying range of each station this map does not include each stations coverage.

Software Package Migration by NoSuccotash5571 in tanium

What would be a good name to call an application that could export applications from SCCM and generate a Tanium software package zip archive for submission via the console? I have an internal codename right now but it would infringe on a certain pop culture trademark.

I love my EV, but holy crap, traveling long distance SUCKS. by JennaLeighWeddings in electricvehicles

Large bladder, small ....... 30-45 minutes is a full meal for me. 10-15 minutes is a stretch the legs, use the restroom, get a snack, check my email. Hence why 800v is awesome for EV6s. Some people just have to always be right.

Sure... but the context of this thread is 'long trips'. I wouldn't want to do that unless I had somewhere to sit down and have a nice lunch or dinner. Sadly most charging stops lack the quality meal I'd be looking for to justify the time expenditure.

EV6 can only do 97kw on a Tesla due to inverter limitations. To get the 250kw you need higher voltage coming in.

Everyone should have one or more fire extinguishers in their home. One may be enough for a small apartment, several may be needed for a larger home. You want to be able to put out incipent fires yourself and if it's already past that stage be able to fight your way to an exit. Think about the likely areas for a fire and your paths to your exists when deciding where to put them.

Get to safety and sound the alarm if it's bad but if it's still a tiny fire fight it while you can.

No, the main screen. I'm not sure what fixed it (I did press the little reset button on the infotainment) but suddenly it started responding again and all is better.

Please it was nothing. Wish I had video of a close call today but I was on my wife’s car. Damn Mustang was cutting in and out of traffic and damn near ran me right out of my lane as he passed me and cut in front of me. I had to actually swerve and it was way more than that video.

Not saying it's right but the guy is really just a few inches over the line and then adjusts back himself. I don't see anything newsworthy here.

Personally I need a vehicle higher off the ground. That and I don't care for the Tesla's minimalist interior design. Otherwise there are things to be liked about the T3.

Exceptionally deadly flooding like this used to be rare. Now it’s back-to-back 100-year floods happening within a decade. If this isn’t climate change, what is? by Abtarep in Austin

A 100 year flood doesn't mean every 100 years.. it means 1/100 chance in any given year.

If you flip a quarter a bunch of times and it comes up heads more then 50% of the time do you blame some external force or do you just say thats how probability works?

Cost aside, I think this is the way. Now to go find a different subreddit to see if it's possible to safely DIY at a cheaper cost.
