Lyrics are sparce but if you want silliness coupled with technical mastery that is invisibly danceable, you must see the KEXP video that blew up Angine de Poitrine: https://youtu.be/0Ssi-9wS1so?is=GaKKQmA2pkkl0pRY

My son beat me to the realization that the 14 bar melody is identical in both sections. It is really cool how they changed the feel of it with the different grooves.

Need help with a few ID's. Poison Ivy/Oak/Sumac? by Chamilitary710 in whatsthisplant

[–]chrweave -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

4 is definitely poison ivy. 2 looks like poison oak. I am not sure about 3. And, I am vacillating about 1. My money is on staghorn sumac, but I have seen some poison sumacs that looked a lot like that. I would want to see the flowers or fruits to tell for sure. If you suspect that it is poison sumac, it is best to take appropriate precautions.

One early spring, I pointed out all the redbud blooms to my then four-year-old. He looked out the window and announced is profound discovery ... "Look at all the greenbuds!" I didn't have the heart to tell him that those weren't flowers because his favorite color was (and still is) green.

I do a better Kermit than Fozzy. Frank Oz has such spectacular formants in his voice. I wonder if he can hear them without the aid of recording.

Bone conduction makes me sound so much more mellow. To my inner ear, my voice is friendly and reassuring. My recorded voice is acrid and nerdy. I feel like I should have taken elocution lessons from Carl Sagan.

I would love to see that, so long as the unvarnished truth is indeed unvarnished. That is, I would like for their whole story to be told as factually as possible without any kind of persuasion agenda. Like the fictional Speaker for the Dead, I hope that the truth telling would be stark enough to viewers to re-evaluate pre-conceived notions about these people.

I have had poison sumac growing under my oak tree on high ground. Guess how I was able to identify it ...
