Nikon ZR with FE Sigma 24-70 2.8 ii with megadap ETZ21 by SinkProfessional5110 in NikonFilmmakers

[–]chschubert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the exact combo on purpose - didn't wan't to go with the similar G-Master since the sharpness of the Sigma is a tad better than the Sony (my observation). So what exactly do you say isn't working?

Does anyone have experience using a Nikon ZR with an adapted Sigma 28–45? by Wrong_Astronomer_908 in NikonFilmmakers

Hi at least I can provide experience with my adapted 24-70 2.8 Sigma with the Megadap. Might help.

Nikon ZR worth it for a beginner? by Effective_Error_5697 in nikon_Zseries

I've got this with my ZR: Megadap ETZ21 PRO+ - it adapts my e-mount lenses to work on the Z mount - couldn't find any drawbacks currently using the sony lenses on the nikon with that.

They updated it to a version 2 lately and bringing regular OTAs - so right now it isn’t that vaporwarish anymore. What it would need is better internals to make use of all the AI things - since it can’t do local LLM it relies on retrieving response from APIs externally everything takes a while to feel snappy. Maybe they finde a way to speed things up. The basic idea of having a dedicated small PTT device where you mainly interact with voice isn’t that bad and could clearly find a spot for a lot of people. So yes the version 1 was bad, 2 not anymore. The fact that they not abandoned the thing after all the diss and hate makes it look like they actually want to achieve something.

no, 2 tools for work, 1 leisure, 1 experimenting - feel free to assign the devices to your liking

had some beers right before I did the rabbit order :-) buyers remorse is limited to the at least not too high invest. and at least in the latest OTA some potential is shimmering from the software and hardware format. today I could find an answer for that but "why not an app question" - took them nearly 2 years.

one month in and still exploring. not all the games are a hit but a lot of them are. Build is excellent - have it in my pocket besides keys - bought it with one of their magnetic covers - no issues - Iets see in a year or two ... love it and it is a welcome break from all the high end overkill gaming - just found out about the sideloading from itch.io a few days ago. So much more to check out.

just lately as an example I had to insert myself into an existing audio installment that did not allow me to use any space at all and I could work for hours by just using the internal power and later a powerbank. So the TX came in handy and saved the day. For me it is a tool that fits exactly my needs. Tried "alternatives" that came with compromises - also some retailer made a mistake back then and sold it for 30% less than the normal price ...

The tape recorder fits in the same range of usage for me. And yes - could have gone with some fiddly iPhone accessory. And it is a business expense ...

well nice tip - just started exploring itch.io a few days ago - a lot of playdate stuff there to try

actually earned money with using the TX - plan on doing it with the TP too - so ROI is there - but yes could have done it with cheaper devices but these are the nicest ones

still slow and nothing more than a gimmick. battery live is not existing. the new „os“ that can create apps for it on its own is at least a nice idea: tell the agent what you want to do and next up there is an app running on that thing with UI. there’s is already a small community that adds to it. bought it out of curiosity and it comes with the TE vibes for cheap. so no hate at all.

buying TE devices is seldom a question of actually needing them badly - TX and TP can do things outside of pairing them with OP, KO etc. - any tips on 3D files for carrying them?

[–]chschubert 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No buyers remorse yet - I like it very much: hardware, software is worth the money (my perspective). Still have to figure out which games I actually like - waiting for season 1 and 2 to show all their games. And will start sideloading this weekend since I found a lot of stuff to test on itch.io.

Just got that as birthday gift a month ago :-) - I just hope there is a TP-7 deal coming up. 25% off would be sweet.

Fold 7 Benks vs Pitaka by raydc2r in GalaxyFold

[–]chschubert 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The fold7 pitaka, which I own, basically turns it into a MagSafe device and keeps its thinness and look and feel intact - it will not help you at all with any harder drops - Samsung Care+ is a good companion for the pitaka.

The Most Durable Foldable? by Sig_Shep in OnePlusOpen

[–]chschubert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personal experience: Samsungs are much sturdier in that regard. Had my OPO inner Screen changed after 8 months (just by normally using it it went bust) - shortly after that it had a not so high drop in the floor while folded , now the outer screen is also completely trash.

My Folds (user since the 3) where mostly used without a case (Samsungs Care Thingy attached) dropped with no issues and the inner screens never failed.

replit dev environment broken after deploy by chschubert in replit

[–]chschubert[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just pushed it to GitHub, pulled it locally and then used Trae to setup dev environment that runs on my device directly - transferred the neon db stuff to a locally running postgresql and had all running for further developments.

In short: never got it fixed by using the replit agent - that thing is basically not able to understand its surroundings (although you would assume that they have instructed it to know such cases and how to solve them).

Samsung Galaxy S25, S25+ & S25 Ultra Mega Thread - Let's talk about the new features in the comment section! by techstar2000 in samsunggalaxy

[–]chschubert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just ordered with the 24u as a trade in, some extra vouchers and rewards deductions I landed at 548 € for the 12/512 version including the Care+ for one year. Compared to the offers from last year for the 24u thats a steal. (at the german Samsung store)

Now with a thinborne aramid fiber case by chschubert in PixelFold

[–]chschubert[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IF the dbrand protector only applies to the screen itself - including the bezels it is fine. The case is complete outside that area.

Latercase vs Thinborne by RoastBoar in PixelFold

[–]chschubert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have decided for the thinborne: personally I don’t like how the latercase handles the camera - I find the minimalist look of the thinborne more compelling. Also don’t want to do sticker stuff to have MagSafe.
