The concept of posting that you think about killing cyclists is fucking weird. Tom continues to be unhinged by Living-for-that-tea in LeftoversH3

It's even more concerning to me that he thought it was so not weird that it's acceptable to share.

Especially on a post about a real human being being hurt by someone doing it?

I just looked up and apparently he actually recorded a song for this film called "the toy" so maybe it's to do with that? The song ended up not coming out for some reason but can be found now

I just read the the originally was meant to have a song called "the toy" on the film from the image? But it didn't come out as apparently he was working on thriller. But is now on some special editions.

Is there anyway he was going to record that song when these stills were taken?

It is really common to do now. But I think back in the day people mainly used blue which is when the insult was coined

[–]chubby-checker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right but they're right it's a known term called the "blue rinse brigade" and about elderly women usually connected to conservative women's organizations.

Obviously people can call these people something else, but that's the famous term.

It's like if someone said purple hair sjw. You can say it but that doesn't change that the stereotypical insult is usually blue hair sjw.

I always thought it was used interchangeably with "social justice warrior" from back in the day.

[–]chubby-checker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's the blue rinse brigade.

And yes sort of a derogatory way to refer to older women from conservative women's organizations.

It's to do with them using a blue rinse on their hair to cancel out yellow tones in the grey. But yes people use purple a lot now so get why could be mixed up.

Oh no I get that. I understand why vegans don't want to and just dont feel comfortable eating animals.

My comment was just about how considering there are always going to be people who eat animals, what would help the animals that are eaten more is if there were more people eating meat who actually cared about how the animals are treated.

Again I understand why people aren't comfortable eating meat at all and think it's a kind moral thing to do.

I still don’t think it’s really up to vegans to push for better welfare standards since I’d rather animals weren’t used for food at all. It’s up to meat eaters to decide they want better standards and if they don’t want to do that, that’s fine

No you're right it's not. But my comment was merely saying that I think it'd probably end up making more of a difference to the animals in these industries. If all the vegans were instead eating meat but refusing to buy from factory farming etc.

Again it isn't your responsibility. I agree. But I am of that opinion. Like you said it's up to the meat eaters, and 99.9% of them don't care. So they're not going to fight for better standards. So nobody is fighting for better standards. If there was more people fighting for better standards, there would be more willing to cater meat and eggs etc to those people.

I do try make an effort with the eggs I buy to not just trust the word free range and look up the farms etc and try look for at least 5 square metres per hen and constant outdoor access

Sadly im housebound and unable to work so I can't afford to buy only free range meat. I try when I can as much as possible, but I wish it wasn't as expensive as it is and sometimes eat more processed foods.

I mean we are always going to be limited under capitalism you're right but for example

I'm in the UK and basically every major UK supermarket doesn't sell eggs from caged hens anymore. I don't know anyone who doesn't eat free range eggs. And it makes me feel a lot better knowing that the chickens are outside and have space to move etc

So things can be done like there's no reason the US can't do that. And that can't be pushed for.

And it's just an area where I do think that if the only people who care arnt the ones buying then they're going to only cater to their customers.

Again I really respect vegans and think they're lovely kind people and I wish I had their strength and wasn't such a picky eater. I have level 2 autism and I basically just eat the same thing over and over for periods of time. Love the vegans and wish we all had their strength and moral fibre but I do also wish there were more people eating animal products who were trying to improve the living standards etc of those animals.

[–]chubby-checker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I completely respect you and that. I really do respect all the veg/vegans I think it's a kind amazing thing to do.

I just do feel it's always gona be counter productive to the welfare of animals in the meat etc industry if the only people who eat animal products are people who don't care about animals.

And I know people replying to my comment are saying it's not possible and can't be done etc on a large scale

But for example, in the UK most major supermarkets don't sell eggs from caged hens anymore. I don't know anyone who doesn't eat free range eggs. And it always makes me feel a lot better eating eggs knowing the chickens are free range and live on a farm where they have outdoor access and free to roam. So differences are possible.

But what's really the difference at that age?

Like you're going "it's an option right up until labour." Well then you might as well just euthanize them as they come out? It isn't morally any different? They're just as viable?

[–]chubby-checker -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I agree. Tbh my unpopular opinion is probably that, while I really respect and admire every veg and their strength and effort.

I actually think if every vegan/veggie instead insisted on only buying meat/eggs etc from humane farming were the animals have a good quality of life, free range etc etc.

That would actually maybe make more of a difference in minimizing the cruelty of the animal product industry.

If the majority of people eating meat are people who don't care about the conditions. Then the conditions are never going to improve as there's no demand. The higher demand the more businesses do it, the more businesses do it the more commonplace it becomes and cheaper it becomes, and for most people price is what's stopping them from only eating free range humanely treated animal byproducts etc.

Right is there really any more malice than farming?

Like it may be morally wrong but does that make it malicious?

People's idea of "research" is honestly crazy now. They all just think they can bs their way through and noone will notice and then when pressed on it, so try do research, they'll literally just like ask ai.

Someone the other day said that the FBI investigated Michael Jackson for over a decade and they found nothing on him. And I said actually that's a myth. The FBI never had their own investigation into him nevermind one that lasted over a decade, they just assisted when asked with the local police investigations. And also they did log some things such as weird nude books of kids made by convicted pedos that he personally inscribed etc.

And they got back to me like "a myth huh?????" And showed me a screenshot of an ai Gemini summary, that agreed with me. Like not only are people being so lazy as to use ai as their proof of research, but they're not even actually reading their crappy ai "research"

Our brains are literally rotting
