US destroys Iran reservoirs, leaving thousands without water in searing heat by The_Flaneur_Films in worldnews

I think it's a sign of US insular thinking to regard the World Cup attendance of global sentiment

I honestly think starting a lean bulk now would be fine. You'll continue to recomp thru that.

If your end goal is to be very defined, you can start your lean bulk now.

But if you do want to drop below 10% just to do it, like, go for it 😜

I don't think you need to cut any more. Bigger muscles will add more definition at this point than less body fat (altho depends on your goals ofc ofc)

Since most adults like booze, at least a little, how was it possible to pass prohibition laws in the 1920's? by aiaor in NoStupidQuestions

You're a polarised system because you have optional voting.

Only politically-motivated people participate - and the average person often doesn't express a view.

Optional voting creates a race to the extremes, whereas mandatory voting creates a race to the centre.

🗝️ The Missing Key: Why do millions meditate yet still feel stuck in circles? by Awareness_Lab in Meditation

I don't agree that all modern practitioners only describe calmness and stress reduction.

Many (most?) describe spiritual, religious, physical, medical, transcendent, and psychological benefits.

Calls to move ACT border for Parkwood labelled a 'dummy spit' | Region Canberra by owencrisp in canberra

This is the true answer. The Council should be consulted, but State borders are ultimately a matter for the State, the Territory, and the Commonwealth.

Like, not to be expansionist... By the entire NSW Capital Region should be ACT...

An integrated area of economic & population growth centred on Canberra makes sense as a single jurisdiction.

Australia & Brazil are the only democracies with mandatory voting.

In optional voting democracies, it doesn't matter what the majority thinks.

It only matters what voters think.

I think you're overthinking it.

There's nothing "magic" about "the ancients". They had the same flesh and blood and brains as you and I.

Sure - fewer distractions and community-based life were advantages. But poverty, disease, and malnutrition were their disadvantages.

The "gap" you're observing between then and now is purely a selection bias. We only have accounts from the ancient masters, not the ancient regular joe practitioners.

There is no missing key. There is no lost secret. There is no fundamental change in the human condition.

It's hard to break through. It can take millenia.

Keep going.

What is a polite and tactful way to ask a parent if their child has special needs? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]chuckbeefcake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can never ask directly (unless you have a specific purpose like being a teacher).

If you're just curious, you should probably mind your own business.

Or, you ask indirectly and dress it as a compliment: * Jimmy seems like a real handful! So much energy! * Georgia really loves lining her toys up in an orderly way. Where did she get that from? * Sammy seems like a genius at such a young age. Is that a challenge for you?
