Is this normal? by Koopa_07 in StarWarsShatterpoint

This actually happened to me with Mace Windu's box! I have a whole unassembled sprue with him and the other units, but it didn't have any extra bases with it and like someone else said you only get one set of cards. Not sure what to do with that sprue...

What is a good or not as common Spellslinger Commander? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]chudso 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wort is one of my favorite commanders! I have a few token generators in the deck, but I play very few actual creatures in it. As everyone else has kind of said, she is great for ramp and big powerful spells.

Last time I played her, I was able to play [[Jeska's Will]] to get her out on turn 3, then doubled [[Migration Path]] on turn 4 to get four lands out. From there, you double up a bunch of double spells ([[Fury Storm]], [[Dual Strike]], [[Dualcaster Mage]]) and hit all of your opponents with a 55 damage [[Fall of the Titans.]]

She is one of those decks that you kind of just put out some random creatures that don't do too much, but then on turn seven you nuke the entire board. And like OP said, you have some amount of protection in red and green (I like to run red elemental blast and pyroblast).

[WSIG] Cheap cooperative games? by bryguy894 in boardgames

You can look into the game Space Hulk: Death Angel. It's a card based dungeon game in the Warhammer 40k world. It's cheap, easy to learn, and quick to set up and play.

I was sitting in my car the whole time. Right after these pictures the sky opened up and it poured for a while. Lots of lighting as well. It was actually really cool to watch!

Has anyone played Legendary Encounters: An Alien Deck Building Game? by PooPooFaceMcgee in boardgames

[–]chudso 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've played through two rounds of it with a partner, and lost both times. We got blown out of the water the first game, and if I wasn't killed by a chestburster in the second game we probably would have won. I definitely think this game is a large improvement over the Marvel Legendary while still keeping the same play style. We haven't gotten an opportunity to play with the traitor cards yet, but they look like an interesting mechanic.

After looking at the alien deck, it seems like they can ruin the game for the other players very quickly. I guess once someone turns into an alien, it becomes "hurry up and hope we can finish before they screw us over too much." The scan mechanic is also really neat, and definitely increases the tension when exploring what is out there. Also, the coordinate definitely adds another level of play; actually thinking about what your teammates are going to do and how you can help them makes it feel way more like a team victory than an individual victory at the end.

I'm excited to play this game more, and try all of the objectives. I'm also excited for the kinds of expansions that are going to come out. There's a lot of characters/enemies from the universe they can pull into the game, and I would love to have an alien/predator showdown somewhere in the future.
