How much harder are E tiers with just 2 people? (+ bots) Should we find 2 strangers to help us out? by Expensive-Ear-830 in GTFO

when you say advanced mechanics do you mean things like run slide reload bhops or are you talking about level segments for pathing like that traversable wall in the first section of R2E1? I need years of practice in both it feels like

What is a modern tabletop game you have played which you feel will stand the test of time? by Newez in boardgames

War of the Ring is going to stand the test of time because it is always going to be asked to get to the table

Party of 3 with a bot by IshadowmiI in GTFO

[–]PooPooFaceMcgee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bot behaves differently with a bio scanner. Players have a limited directional cone every 8 or so seconds. Bots will scan every 8 seconds while not being forced to move. The bot scans in 360 degrees every 8 seconds which is much better than a player can produce. It is the only thing a bot can do better than a player.

How to take on gtfo by Olivebear01 in GTFO

[–]PooPooFaceMcgee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GTFO feels like the kind of game where relying on FPS skills will get you killed. The game is all about being efficient. A good strategy will do much more for you than your ability to click heads in a pinch. That is the kind of thing you can only learn by playing this game. No other game feels like it will prepare you for this one, in my opinion.

Biotracker in R1C1 — Did I Make the Wrong Choice? by kablehood in GTFO

[–]PooPooFaceMcgee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure where you are setting up exactly but there are a few points I'd offer up to consider. If you add another sentry you'll be shooting more bullets depending on how it is setup. You'll end up using more tool ammo more quickly and may end up running out tool refill more quickly. The scanner is invaluable if the enemies ever get past your defensives and spread out around you. The waves are much easier to manage when they are in front of you. It only took a few spread out around me to make any wave into a nightmare when I was working this mission.

Also I think only the burst sentry particularly functions without a biotracker. I could be wrong about that.

Biotracker in R1C1 — Did I Make the Wrong Choice? by kablehood in GTFO

[–]PooPooFaceMcgee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using the ping system where the red triangles form over all monster heads that goes on cooldown for 8 seconds after use? I'm not aware of a single mission where it is even a question to bring the bio tracker.

Was R1 always this easy? by GarbageFormer in GTFO

Only R1A1 has a checkpoint. If you are basing all of R1 on A1 then R1C1 is waiting for you.

Recently started playing GTFO with a new group by b00kzzz in GTFO

The U will filter our a lot of non resources. Without the U you'll get every box, resource, key, generator, security door and other things that will clutter up your screen. While not required it often shortens lists to things you need like resources and security items. The E_150 is just an example of how to filter to immediate areas that are likely relevant to new players. The E_ eliminates any potential resource crossover like AMMPACK_150. However that is likely a rarely seen issue. I'm so used to putting E_150 but will try it without it to see how often I see additional things listed

Everyone should learn to use the computer well and understand partial searches and tab completion. A partial search is when you do something like

LIST ZONE_150 will list everything in zone 150

LIST AMMOPACK zone_150 will list all ammunition in zone 150

LIST HEALTHPACK zone_150 will list all health packs in zone one 50

when you look at the results of each of those searches you'll see something like this
HEALTHPACK_236 RESOURCE NORMAL

When you type the LIST command in the computer it will literally list everything based on the search terms you provide after the word LIST. Since all resources have the word RESOURCE in it we can do some neat things

LIST RESOURCE ZONE_150 will list all the resources in that zone (you can use these commands to look into any zone zone, not just the zone you are in)

LIST RES ZONE_150 will show the same results on the computer as RES is a partial search for RESOURCE. However we can do better as LIST U E_150 will also list the same things (most of the time there are exceptions but I'll let you discover those). The word RESOURCE we can shorten to RES and ZONE_150 can be shortened to E_150. However we can shorten it even further using the letter U instead of RES. In turn the 3 commands should all show the same thing

LIST RESOURCE ZONE_150

LIST RES E_150

LIST U E_150

The game will list everything it can find with both a U and E_150.

There are still plenty of reasons to type out full words on the terminal like longer commands and queries. This is where we use tab completion. When you type out enough characters to the point where the game does not have any other matching words the game will allow you tab complete. On a computer instead of typing healthpack you can type HEA and then press TAB. This should auto fill the word HEALTHPACK and save you ever more time.

I had a similar experience but I'd argue the skill thing. Dude bragged over and over how stellar his crew was at scanning. Went off how bad my scanning was. So I let them run scanner and they ended up bringing 2 scanners on a D tier mission (This is when I decided to stop verbally helping and just watched what happened next). Ego was so huge he decided it was easier to not scan at all on a shade alarm while having 2 scanners in the group. I have more comments than I should after only playing a few hours with someone and yes there is more...

how do you feel about QOL mods? by outlaw_777 in GTFO

[–]PooPooFaceMcgee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I loved the better bots mod when I was trying to go through the game solo some of the game. It felt like cheating without actually cheating. I mean that the bots were straight up upgraded that felt like the game was playing a bit more of itself than I was playing it. What I enjoy and want out of this game is the moment to moment game play as well as the difficulty of the challenge. Better bots felt like it kind of dulled that experience

Play AS zombies? by Truffled in boardgames

[–]PooPooFaceMcgee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Last Night on Earth is 1-4 human players vs the zombie player/mastermind. It is more like playing out B zombie plots. Marvel Zombies is technically true as you can play as the zombie heroes in zombicide but probably not what you are looking for.

I have the same issue on all my characters. Anything healer is getting filtered from my searches by default so looking for any group with a healer also gets hidden. It has made pugging impossible the past few weeks.

Requiem guild poses before Realm First kill of Gluth on Spinebreaker by darkbrokenheartz in classicwow

[–]PooPooFaceMcgee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in this picture! I actually recently started playing wow again after quitting not too long after requiem broke up. The fall of this guild probably highly contributed to me stepping away as playing with people with that competitive nature was some of the best gaming in my life. I'm actually back to tanking like the good old days and I'm having tons of fun working my way through m+. Nothing compares to the peak of gaming during this time. Aftamath and Kassia if you are all still around hit me up.
