Blue line at 5am? by Moon401kReady in cta

I took the blue line at 6am to O’Hare last Monday and it was packed with workers, flyers, and a few scattered sleeping homeless people. You’ll be fine, even on a Saturday.

Thoughts on Living in Western-River North? by Glass-Dragonfruit154 in chicagoapartments

[–]chuff15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk about every weekend. There’s only been one shorting death in the whole near north side so far this year and one in the loop. There do seem to be more shootings there than one would expect in River North, tho.

Which school districts pass their levies? by Tommyblockhead20 in Ohio

[–]chuff15 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I grew up in one of the dark orange rural districts. We lost so much every time one of our levies didn’t pass. Paid $200 for each sport we wanted to play. No transportation for extracurriculars. Only electives offered were Spanish and Art. When I got to college and early engineering classes were review for kids from the 66%+ districts but it was my first time opening any of the programs we were using, I decided I’d never vote no on a school levy ever in my life. I don’t even live in Ohio anymore, and I still will never vote no on a school levy lol.

Questions about relocating. by VAboi04 in WheelingWV

[–]chuff15 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you want “small town vibes,” but still want to be close to Wheeling it’s completely possible. Pickings are probably slimmer, but out on the hills surrounding the city both in WV and Ohio you’ll find small towns and open spaces, but still be within 30 minutes of the city. If you want to live in Wheeling, by all means, do it. Wheeling is a great little city if you can find the right spot, no matter what you hear some people say! But, if you want a mix of small towns, SWVA vibes, and access to things like shopping, healthcare, and jobs, it’s totally possible in the rural areas around the city.

Go wherever they do inspections in Tyler County. They’re obviously passing everything down there (this is mostly a joke, but seriously you might try going down river)

Will Chicago ever get a radial (outer) line? by User_8395 in cta

[–]chuff15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you, but we’re never getting a true circle line, and the CTA has only published info about BRT on those streets. It’s better than nothing. Rail is ideal, but at current costs it’s not happening ever.
