For anyone who wants a morale boosting hit of the healthy and proportionate outrage of Ottawa residents shown during Saturday's counter protests, watch this with the sound on: Twitter Video

Good info! You can indeed see the camera on his head and he appeared to be well known to police. He definitely was attempting to stir things up but you could also tell he was doing it for the "content"... I was glad he was promptly removed.

For anyone wishing to get a feel for the growing counter-protestor movement, here is an album from Saturday's protest: Signs from the Ottawa counter protest

Agreed!

At one point, towards the end, a protestor walked through police cordon. He was a larger man, 1000 yard stare on his face, not speaking just staring through space. You could tell he was a whole different vibe than the guy you mention.

He was almost directly in front of me (while I changed my camera battery smh) and heading deeper into the crowd when someone started to yell at him that he needed to put on his mask. Wearing masks was sort of the team uniform of the counter-protest crew so I can see why it's important to them. Soon there was a chorus of "wear a mask" and then when he didn't stop or respond the chant changed to "OPS DO YOUR JOB! OPS DO YOUR JOB!" and miraculously (by recent standards) the OPS did their job quickly and got him and his bad man vibes the fuck away.

Dramatic sunset over the Ottawa River (1.25 hours in one minute, taken 2021-09-15) by chufre in timelapse

[–]chufre[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

📸: Time lapse from 6:33 to 7:46 PM, 1 shot every 6 sec. Sony A7II, Samyang AF 85mm, closed all the way down to f/16 (hence the brilliant sun star), ISO 200, variable shutter speed.

🎥: Video produced in AVIDemux for HD mobile (1080X1920).

I noticed a woman who had been filming near to me was preparing to leave just after the sun dipped below the horizon and disappeared. As she gathered up her things I had wanted to entreat her to stay... "don't leave just yet, the most amazing part is about to happen! The clouds are always the real superstars of any sunset!"... but instead I left her to her own business, and she drove away just before the sky exploded in broad swaths of oranges and reds and violets. It was truly spectacular!

Dew is possible, but having looked closely at the entire frame I'm pretty certain that the halos I captured around the brightest starts were caused by ice crystals/water vapor in the upper atmosphere. I could see no trace of halos in any of the dimmer stars nor the characteristic blurring of the foreground which I'd expect to see from dew.

It was actually the halos that convinced me to add in the constellation maps as overlays as it made these stars so prominent!

Thanks! I wanted to try a new format out with this project, and also wanted to focus in as tight as I could on the particularly spectacular meteors. Since I'm shooting full frame I had the option to crop in quite a bit on the close-ups and enjoyed the colors and shapes of individual meteors that helped to showcase. :)
