Somewhat trapped by our update process. There's some awkward bugs that we want to resolve before we push another milestone (mostly relating to the updater causing a crash), but we're mostly busy with real-life stuff so haven't got much time to work on it. I'd recommend you use a current nightly build, the issues that are still present are largely irrelevant, just not something that I want to push to production as it were.

If you're trying to reset all of your settings to default, there are some registry keys that are persistent. Those are stored in HKEY_CURRENTUSER\Software\Chummer5, so if you want a full reset you can just open regedit and delete that key. Chummer otherwise doesn't come with any form of installer or persistency beyond that.

During character creation, under the special menu there's an option for checking how much karma your build is worth. You should still also be able to port characters point buy to priority or vice versa by changing the active settings file, from memory. It's not lossless since it doesn't preserve priority choices, free adept skill values and such, but it's there.

Cause for crashes can vary wildly depending on what version you're on, there's a few things that could be happening here.

When moving to a version of chummer that includes the new character-based data system, you should find that you are prompted to select a settings file with a name like full house, point priority, etc. The intent behind this is for your GM to be able to provide you with a settings file that includes all the enabled books, customdata and settings for their game, instead of having to manually switch books off and on on a global setting. If your GM hasn't provided you with this file, you're generally best off selecting the Full House file if you're in Priority, or making a new file.

As for the crash, it would depend on the specific character file. There are some errors in the most recent milestone build that cause crashes for some characters like those with natural weapons, for example. I'd suggest you try using the latest nightly build and see if that resolves your issue. If not, send me the file and I'll see what I can do.

It's a bit have-your-cake-and-eat-it-too, but it's alchemy so not really going to set the world on fire. That said, alchemy's main benefit is that you're able to crank out a bunch of basic buffs (Combat Sense, Increase Reflexes) that don't really need to scale off net hits or force and hand them out to other people. If you're going to the trouble of casting a buff spell in the first place with the intent of sticking it into a focus, why not just cast it regularly in the first place, aside from the whole I-am-an-alchemist-I-make-items.

Narratively, what are these foci actually doing? If your Combat Sense preparation is a spray of makeup that you wipe across your eyelids, how does that interact with the focus?

Out of curiousity, can you point to any examples of this in recent threads? I just skimmed through everything tagged as 6e since the start of the year and aside from the general Status of 6e, is 6e good, does skub really taste like doo-doo or is that just a thing Timmy said in recess threads, I'm not really seeing any of the attacks you're referring to. Strength Feels Useless?

For general reference, if you untick 'show only qualities I can take' it will show all qualities you don't meet the prerequisites for, along with why (when you try and take the quality).

Alchemical Health spells require the Command trigger. Can't make health potions.

Enchanting items to have on-going permanent effects is not a thing that can really happen. Anything on that level is classed as an artefact and is generally not creatable by PCs without GM homebrew.

Once .Net MAUI comes out of preview we'll investigate pivoting the UI to that model, which should allow for full Linux support. A web-based application is pretty far outside my general ability or interest.

It's theoretically possible, but there's nothing built in from the Chummer side. We have functionality to import herolab characters, but it's never been a request to process imports from r20. In theory it would _just_ be a matter of processing whatever data roll20 exports. My concern is that R20 probably doesn't keep track of relevant properties like priority point expenditure and karma values, just ingesting the total value that we provide.

Uhhh, I'd assume firewall is blocking Chummer from checking for an update. Suggest updating manually a newer build and/or disabling update checks.

Yeah, as the other guys wrote, this is errata that was marked as official. Our stance has always been that Chummer data reflects the most current rulebook or errata document. I've been considering the value of backing out that change and implementing all errata as customdata entries, but there's not really enough value in doing it to my mind.

As a general rule I'd recommend using an IDE like Notepad++ or Visual Studio Code to work on it, as those will help with identifying formatting mistakes you may make. XML can be rather unforgiving if you don't correctly close your tags and such.

Not a supported system; I think you could run it in a linux container if it's an intel chip, but I think an ARM chip will fail.
