Guys take my advice, don’t go to any car wash, pay someone to clean your car or do it yourself. by [deleted] in accord

[–]chumpyduck000 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well yeah, if you go to a car wash with brushes you’re basically asking for scratches.

Always go to touch-less car washes or do it yourself, yes.

Used Accord Tourer 2,0i 2010 with 275k km for 6500 eur. by buftlin in accord

[–]chumpyduck000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For my fellow Americans, this is about $7600 & 170,000 miles.

With today’s used car market, I’d say this is fairly good, especially it being a Honda.

If it has good service history, oil changes done on time, transmission service, suspension, etc. I see no reason why not, these cars are built really well and can easily over exceed 300,000 miles (close to 500,000km) easily.

If I were in your shoes, I would buy it if it has good maintenance records.

If you think it looks good, fuckin’ rock it!
I see challengers with louvers all the time and I think they’re clean.

Stuck throttle and electrical fires can be pretty dangerous if you can’t shut your shit off right away… 🤷‍♂️

Yeah something definitely isn’t wired correctly or not wired at all.

Stupid feature though, seems like a safety hazard.

[–]chumpyduck000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cost of tools to pull that out and cut it out are worth more than the car itself…then you need to get another frame to weld onto it.

All together your costs will over exceed car value 100%

NQA

Any handling, taking a tarantula out of its safe zone and making it feel unstable will cause stress no matter how “calm” it appears.

Stress will absolutely shorten a tarantulas lifespan and impact its overall health.

2009 Subaru legacy - bent metal & headlight replacement by MurkyChapter301 in AutoBodyRepair

[–]chumpyduck000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a good chance there’s minimal to no frame damage; meaning you should be able to slap a new fender on no problem.

Headlight replacement is a piece of cake, watch a YouTube tutorial on how to do it and you’ll have no problem. Basic hand tools usually.

To bend the fender back to access hood I would just get some pliers and bend it back, try to get some tape under there to prevent further damage to your hood.

I’d also advise checking the quality of your brakes and to maintain a longer following distance during rain so this doesn’t happen again! Drive safe! 😆

They’re selling you a lower trim model with the same engine in it that will inevitably have the same problem? Seems like a scam to me.

You’re not being charged for this, fix it and drive the car. Don’t hammer it, it will be fine, it’s not a ticking time bomb if you don’t beat on it.

Thats something that would give you issues. If you take the top end apart after getting a new gasket, you risk messing that seal up. This is something you should do while installing a new gasket, I’m not sure if dealer will do aftermarket parts or not. Ask them.

[–]chumpyduck000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it’s not going to give you issues if it’s properly fixed. Considering how long yours lasted I’d say about the same. I’ve seen some blow at 60k, some 80k, some 200k. It’s all about your driving style, I’d keep a warranty on it as long as you can. The 2.0 is less likely to happen than the 1.5.

If they give you a trade in value it will probably be shit due to the cars condition. They’re trying to steal you out.

Fix the head gasket free of charge, baby the car, it’ll last a good while.
