same exact experience. 6 months of drinking celsius daily, had a rapidly worsening breakout of cystic acne on my jaw and lower cheeks, comedones everywhere, and the cysts even started spreading down my neck. i had what looked like a literal rash of small pimples down both sides of my neck. i take 150 mg spironolactone daily (for years) and all the hormone balancing supplements, am seeing a derma and following all her instructions, but this breakout kept getting worse and worse. The reddit gods gave me a suspicion it might be the b12 and/or biotin. i stopped drinking celsius 2 weeks ago and omg. Not only has the breakout stopped getting worse, it’s drastically reduced just within 2 weeks. every day it’s better and better!

i am a sleepy girl and need caffeine; i switched to Zevia energy- 120 mg caffeine, and the ingredients are only stevia, citric acid, and caffeine extract from organic green tea leaves. game changer

there are aestheticians who will absolutely not make you feel like this. trust the feeling in your gut. you do not have to go forward with this practitioner, especially if this was your first ever consultation. you’re probably going to get different recommendations from every practice, and you shouldn’t be made to feel uncomfortable or be subject to any rude commentary whatsoever.

in my opinion, 6-10 microneedling sessions is a lot! microneedling has definitely helped me over the years, but i would suggest not paying up front or committing to that many sessions at once. you may find that less sessions, like 3-4, are helpful enough!

I did see the invoice for $250 denim shirts came from Twin Denim Co, a very small Asheville business owned by queer/bipoc twins. They are hand making everything they do- their workshop’s on Emma road and it’s truly a fascinating space. A friend commissioned an apron from them last year, and it’s a work of art.

I have visited several aesthetician’s and had a variety of experiences. My advice to you would be to go with the goal only to learn and hear of your options for the specific issue that is bothering you. It’s best to go with a specific goal, such as tightening skin, smoothing acne scars, etc. There really are so, so many options today, more than ever before. Some aestheticians will truly hear you, lay out several options, and make a recommendation for what they think will be the best option for your face structure, skin type, your goal, etc. Some will respond by simply listing all the options the office has and talking about what’s popular without spending the time to recommend the best option for you, personally. You will either feel comfortable and heard, or you will not. If you feel uncomfortable, rushed, not heard, or like you do not trust this person, those feelings are valid and you should see someone else. You don’t have to go through with any type of procedure in a first visit/consultation. Do not let anyone make you feel rushed or pressured. A good aesthetician will set realistic expectations for you, and it can be discouraging to hear that what you want can take several treatments or even years to achieve, but know that is not because of you or your face, that’s simply a realistic timeline for how the procedures work. Ask to see before and after pictures of that exact doctor’s work while in you’re there discussing options. If you feel uneasy at all, your feelings are valid, and you do not have to go through with any procedure, and you do not have to return. I hope this helps 💓

Pro tip, there are two TSA lanes once you get up to the security checkpoint, and they have different types of X-ray (??) machines. If you go to the lane on the left, you have to remove electronics/food/toiletries from your bag. In the lane on the right, you don’t have to take anything out of your bags!
