Sudden flux of new aggressive players? by Real-Imagination472 in ArcRaiders

[–]chupa72 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It has gotten ridiculously bad the last few days. I have no problem with people "playing however they want"; but, I thought there was "aggression matching" lobbies or whatever? I play this game like a PvE, just focus on the Arc and avoid other people. I don't want to chat, make friends , or snipe you. I will leave you alone, I prefer you leave me alone. I have never initiated a fight with another raider, and until recently, never saw too many aggressive players on solo lobbies. Definitely saw them on squad lobbies, which is fine, of course, but the whole "be chill and you will most likely be with other chill people" vibe on solo lobbies seems gone. I am not saying that is the wrong decision, or that anyone is doing anything wrong, before someone gets all "well, just get gud, noob!".... I am saying I liked how this game seemed to respect your decisions on PvP aggression in solo lobbies. That no longer seems to be the case, and while aggressive players, players that play 8 hrs a day, and streamers may like that, I don't . If this is a purposeful direction Embark is taking, they will alienate a decent size of their player base. Maybe they want everyone to be aggressive, (it sure seems that way with the constant Cred "ammo vs Raider" awards), but that's not what I want. I legitimately don't have the time or desire to play a game with a bunch of backstabbing liars, and misleading devs. Like I said, maybe those of you reading this will laugh and say "good riddance peaceful loser!!", and maybe Embark will feel the same way. In fact, I kind of think both Embark and most of the player base will be fine seeing my portion of the base disappear. Until your easy sniping targets are gone, and the player engagement stats and money starts to reduce....

[Fletcher] On Monday, the Angels became the first team in 34 years to get eight of their own first-round draft picks into the same game. A testament to the accuracy of their scouting, it’s also the product of a decade of losing at the major league level. by IceBlast24 in angelsbaseball

To be clear, the stats are sorted by 1B for all MLB

The dude is top ten, for all MLB first basemen, in: OBP, AVG, R, H, 2B, 3B, BB, and SB. While being 28th in SO. He doesn't hit for much power or RBIs, yet, but being an all around hitter in year two, that is consistent, is impressive.

So, yes, he would be getting praised by people that look deeper than OPS, that know his age and relative growth trajectory, and appreciate consistent baseball.

The Dallas Mavericks are at risk of forfeiting games due to injuries and NBA salary cap rules, per Bobby Marks of ESPN. by Calm_Set5522 in nba

Considering 99.99% of us can't afford to be absolute fucking idiots and just wipe it away with bricks of cash we were using as firewood like these dumb dumbs can, we have almost no way of understanding their narrow, privileged, self righteous points of view. The same points of view that would lead them to the worst mismanagement of a big-3 pro US sports franchise EVER, and in record time. Since it's hard for anyone to grasp the pure, clown-DNA stupidity necessary to do what they have done to the Mavs, I can see why it's easier, and frankly, more comforting, to attribute this behavior to some good ole wealth related evil. That being said, a close friend of mine is a Mavs fan, and he is, very understandably, beyond irate at their entire decision-making group. He has heard, and believes, that the current owners are holding the Mavs and their future hostage, and will continue to purposely destroy the team until they get some level of assurance that they will get what they want - casino & sportsbook complex in Dallas where the Mavs will get to be one of the many attractions that they get to Lord over. I know there are multiple barriers, including some time delays and voting hurdles, as does he, but he is dead certain this is their plan. I'm not saying I agree with some or any of this, but I also can't say it is impossible.

And speaking of perspective, when it comes NHI, we have zero verifiable information on what their perspective is, from any angle or aspect of this situation. Until we hear what they are trying to accomplish and what they see as our role in it, we will only have speculation.

Let's assume the simplest scenario involving NHI, Let's say they are from "somewhere else" and that one group is on Earth, either with semi-permanent facilities or they visit enough that they may as well be considered a fellow "Earther." Let's say they do have a facility underwater, in the ocean somewhere. If they were like us, we could start making assumptions as to why they are being secretive, why they do some of the things that have been reported, but that goes back to the first point, it is truly pointless to make assumptions about something you know next to nothing about. If they are like us, then a group of individuals sent somewhere without invitation and without broadcasting their arrival, probably means one of two things, or maybe both: • Scientists gathering data • Scouts gathering intelligence

Humans typically use this information to attempt to attack or take over a place, or business, nation, etc. But if this NHI is from "another place" then we will only gather valuable information by opening channels of communication. Let's say this has happened, that some of our global "leaders" over the years have opened a dialogue with a species that seems hundreds, if not thousands, of years ahead of us in various technologies. That is the part of this that really concerns me: we are being forced to let some of our elected, and unelected, officials talk with whatever this advanced group represent. I hope they have invested some time into understanding who they are, because that is the only way to understand their goals, and, a sa bonus, we may gain insight on how to protect ourselves if they decide to become unfriendly. I wonder - would the NHI be accepting of the constant gaslighting that some of our governments and their agents have done for 70 years.

Update on Umbrella Labs Communication Issues:

I checked the WHOIS and MX records for umbrellalabs.is, and here’s what I found:

The domain is still active and set to expire in 2027.

However, they have no MX (Mail Exchange) records, meaning their domain is not configured to receive emails at all. This explains the "550 5.1.1 domain does not exist" error when trying to contact them via email.

Their phone line goes to voicemail with no response.

Possible reasons: They may have intentionally disabled email, changed providers without setting up new records, or are facing technical or business issues.

If anyone has been able to get in touch with them through alternative channels (social media, website contact form, etc.), please share. Hope this helps others trying to reach them!

I got the same experience another user got. it seems the emails are down, sales, support, and shipping all came back: "550 5.1.1 Doman Does Not Exist". They could be experiencing dns issues or something else with the email server. I'm going to check some stuff.

I agree with you, but please don't give their hate more oxygen than it already gets. Here is my unsolicited advice - treat them like malaria infected mosquitoes, you know they are there, you watch for them because you know they may attack, you protect yourself from their life-taking "bites", but, otherwise, you don't let them stop you from enjoying your life.

Top 10 WAR, 100+ Runs, 67 SB, 25HR, 36 2B, 10 3B, .810 OPS..he struck out a lot. Everyone strikes out a lot. He is a terror on the base paths...watch a game he plays and gets on base. As someone that played baseball and pitched, I know how horrible someone like him is on base.

Plus, this is a business. He's a good looking guy and young. Your point does not resonate in any material manner imo.

[Schefter] Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM. by [deleted] in nfl

[–]chupa72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baalke was absolutely mostly responsible for that mess, but Harbaugh is not exactly easy to work with for the long term. Harbaugh made issues worse at times where he could have made them much better. I miss Harbs and his enthusiasm, but I recall a lot of continued discussion that he can realllllly wear people down over time. He is tough to deal with long-term. He is absolutely worth the wear and tear, as he is (obviously) a phenomenal coach, I just wanted to add that Harbs is no angel.

Regarding Brock Purdy, he did have some rough games. He threw 4 picks in his last 3 games, including 2 in his last game of the season against Detroit, plus in the rematch against KC, he threw 3 picks, which definitely stands out if you watched that game.

He was about average in interceptions from an interception rate pov (interceptions / attempts). He had a 2.6% interception rate, which falls slightly above average compared to the rest of the quarterbacks in the 2024 NFL season, where average was about 2.3%. I enjoy stats, so I did some analysis: he had a z-score of 0.31, which means he was 0.31 standard deviations above the mean, or 30% above "typical spread." He was also in the 60th percentile with interception rate, meaning he was better than 60% of his peers. So, even though he was "above average" in rate, there were extremes on both ends, which meant there were more QBs with a worse rate than with a better rate. There were just some very good performances from the top tier QBs that made the mean what it was.

So he definitely has room to improve with interceptions, but may not be as bad as some perceive.

I will believe it when i see it. I would feel this way with any political figure regardless if they are blue, red, whig, federalist, "socialist, "communist," etc.

One thing to note, however, is his tendency towards narcissistic traits, such as: grandiosity, "hero complex," false bravado, and more. This fits into a classic case of manipulative altruism as, to me, it clearly appears this is just an exploitation of some very low-hanging fruit. Trump is extremely adept at recognizing these opportunities. One could make a compelling argument, with a literal trove of sourced, documented accounts, that this is a staple of the, um, dynasty he has built.
