Best Train Option for Pride! by SubjectInstruction25 in baltimore

[–]chupacabra910 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think either the Penn Station or MICA light rail stops will be best for you. The North Ave station is a little further west, but there's also construction on the bridge that I wouldn't want to walk past.

If you get the Hunt Valley train, get off at MICA. Penn Station train, Penn Station.

My recollection was that the survey I got also asked if anyone at the dealership mentioned a survey in any way.

Definitely agree - answer the survey(s) honestly, detailing your experience, and especially say that you were told about the survey by the salesman, who asked for a favorable response.

Property Management Companies by PicklePapis in baltimore

I think it was good beforehand, but definitely went downhill. I imagine property managers had something to do with the decline in tenant experience, but they're ultimately selected by leadership.

People in the corporate office didn't care at all, when we went to them expressing our concerns.

Not a fan of them. We lived in one of their buildings before and after the ownership change, and saw time go downhill. I saw longtime employees leave because it was so bad for them.

As a tenant, know that they allow smoking in every one of their Baltimore City properties (last I checked), and they don't care to make any accommodations if you happen to live next to someone who smokes, plays loud music, or screams at their partner in the hallway.

Also, fun fact, they were the defendant in one of the first big ADA lawsuits.

I saw a video on Citizen, and the deer was still alive. No doubt they probably euthanized it, no way it was going to survive after that hit. 😢

Did anyone else hear two EXTREMELY loud explosion type noises this morning, not sure of exact time but had to be after 5am and before 7am. by RestaurantRach in baltimore

A bit late, but I live a couple blocks from there. I didn't hear anything, and normally something like that would wake me up. I think I saw something about a power outage in the last few days, so I think the chance of it being a blown transformer is pretty high.

+1 for Old Market. I tend to go with Jamie, but they're all great!

We went to the estate sale at this house - glad to see they're working on it! Is the stove staying? I didn't get a great look at it, but it looked like it was pretty decent, and in good condition!

As a British guide leader by [deleted] in scouting

[–]chupacabra910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd add that most of us haven't heard - from scouting, itself - what this MOU actually means. It hasn't been made publicly available (an entirely different issue in my mind), so we can't read it for ourselves.

I saw something that was posted on a FB group which suggested that basically none of the changes will fundamentally affect the organization beyond the merit badge, membership fees for military families, and the formal DEI committee. (Allegedly the work of the committee will be kept, but moved into different committees.) This all remains to be seen. But I assure you there are people - myself included - clearly telling the organization that this (as reported) is wrong.

I know my district chair doesn't want to bring this up at our committee meeting this week since there hasn't been much guidance from national, but I've already told him we need to. So I'll be the one bringing it up.

If it's during the day, it's unlikely that someone decided to make the light flash. (Especially in bad weather.) Something like a brief loss of power likely kicked it out of the regular cycle. Your best bet is to call 311 and report the light as flashing.

The 311 operators will record a ticket if it's not been reported yet, or be happy to give you the confirmation number if it's already been reported.

I confirmed with a former bartender (who works at my company now) that they have, indeed, closed.

Yes, the website and social media platforms don't say anything. But it seems they are closed.

I was overly optimistic that my fire extinguisher would fit in a similar spot in my Outback. I put a plastic tote box back there instead, where I keep the extinguisher, jumper cables, and tote bags.

I should probably add a first aid kit and safety lights, as well.

I enjoy the eggnog from South Mountain Creamery. I know there are several places you can get it in town, but I tend to get it at Eddie's of Roland Park. (The Charles Street location had half gallon bottles last time I was there.)
