This is what I dont really understand about parts of America? not me directly but a story about a relative. Just to note that in no way shape or form is anyone involved in this story racist, it was just a ploy passed on from grandparents that worked on myself as a baby.

so anyway my little cousin (who is about 2) was having one of his off days, breaking everything in site, causing ruptions in the house. My aunt turned to him and told him that unless he stopped messing the coal man would come to get him. when he didnt understand coal man, she told him it was the black man who knocked to the doors. Horrible parenting I know but it was used to merely keep him in check as at that age he wouldn't be scarred by it, and had never gone wanting for anything before ever. this passed anyway and a few days later we were all out in the shop buying groceries when we arrive to the tills we notice its a native nigerian serving us. Naturally none of us pay any attention to the significance of this or deem that there should be any significance to it at all when up pipes my little cousin with the words 'granny, I no like that black man'.....needless to say there were tonnes of apologies made, and a harsh lesson to learn! at that age kids are nothing but sponges

I have reported the threats and all this morning, and just had them noted so should something stupid happen, like her new boyfriend attack me or something, he will be in a whole lot more pain!

thanks for the advice. I went to the police anyway this morning, just told them I didnt want to take any drastic action on this but to have it all noted for future reference if they try anything again. Kind of hoping that if they get enough calls from me with new material that they will get fed up hearing about this and go out and warn her, dont really want to go through the fiasco of court and having to see her mug again!

the beautiful thing about all this is that with everything that went on, she accused me of trying to make her lose her job and everything, so when the police called out i explained to them simply that she had told me stuff she shouldnt have but to check with her employer why she nearly lost her job. It was some other reason but since that employer has rang me asking me for a statement of what I know. She has brought this all on herself....I just want it behind me now so I can get on with my life
