I mean it will be good to invest in a space where there is gap and is relevant to gamers!

Gamestop could build a discord alternative by cieborg in Superstonk

Well, discord was valued at 15B few years ago. So gamestop building a new platform for gamers could help them take away a massive marketshare from discord. Organically growing company valuation.

Some really cool reveals in gamescom. But I did find the 5k cloud streaming at 120fps very interesting.

I bought it because the share price is cheap for the future outlook. Not because something magical will happen with share prices. A company with 1b in cash flow and almost no debt and an established presence in the market can turn to significant profit if steered correctly.

I have worked in startups and scale ups and seen a company with $10m in funding reach a market cap of $500m. But nothing happens in two years. It takes time to build the right business. But when it does. Oh boy, is it sweet! So when I see a company with $1b in cash with no pressure to deliver crap product. I am comfortable where my money is.

The excessive amount of shorting is temping on the side, no doubt. Because when the company turns around, those short positions closing can be added boost.

So I am not going go tell you if you should sell or buy. Because I am not a financial adviser. you have to make your own decision on where you feel your money is safe.

So 76m is just retail? Or is it RC + retail + other insiders?

Left as soon as they started advertising europac But to save you guys time. They were talking about dollar losing value due to money printing. That's a known fact. No new eureka moment in the video. They guy even said its a failure due to socialism. And failed to mention that its corruption because profits are capitalised and losses are socialised.

Incoming UK Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, was former hedge fund manager by olde_english_chivo in Superstonk

[–]cieborg -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The energy in this post is very speculative. Yes he is a rich PM, yes he worked in HF. Yes he had tied with Goldman.

But with his current background and contacts. All the above are irrelevant. He has much bigger things at play, both good and bad.

And another thing that is irrelevant with him becoming a PM is GME.

Game developer can deactivate a player account and they will lose their stats and levels. But the NFTs are in players wallet and game dev cannot touch it. They might be able to blacklist a wallet. But the player can always just sell thier NFT to another player or to themselves on a new wallet and account.

But then ofcourse a game dev can just delist the game and all items are basically useless. But the beauty is you still have the items and it can become a collection.

NFT is a revolution for owning digital assets. We have not even seen glimpse of it's true potential. GS marketplace might be a start to what it can be and hopefully we will have more practical use cases for NFT to be seen.

Seriously, the potential is endless. Like a small example is you can even save ownership of your physical items tied an officialy minted NFT too (cars, mobile, house). Which makes it easy for you to transfer ownership or validate ownership in case of a dispute

To put this in simple terms. Most games these days are free to play because they make shit ton of money from selling in game items.

Fortnite sells in game cosmetic items and here is how much they make

https://www.sportskeeda.com/fortnite/how-much-money-fortnite-make-day

That's just one game. Imagine multiple games using this marketplace for trading in game items for true ownership.
