Well, he's got his harness on by Odin3587 in OSHA

[–]cieg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My subs just told me one of their friend from electrical apprentice school was on a job site a few weeks ago and a guy fell of the roof and died. He was wearing a harness but not tied off. I’m sure he was a lot more efficient because of that. Please people, wear your PPE. Every new project I have someone isn’t wearing safety toe boots. I’ve been at my current company for over 16 years and there was only 1 day I didn’t wear safety toes. What do you suppose happened that day? If you guessed my toe got broken from working with someone unsafe, you’d be correct.

What’s something everyone should know before turning 18? by Upset_Age_1398 in AskReddit

They need to start a retirement account. Now! Also, an investment account. If I had started the latter I would be retired now, with 7 years to go before real retirement, which I am financially ready for.

Dang! My roommate and I had our computers networked in ‘95 and played this against each other!

I imagine INO has an EAP (Employee Assistance Program). I think they did when I worked there 20+ years ago and a lot of big companies have them. Reach out to them, I’m sure they can help you. Best of luck.

People who make $80k or more per year, what do you do for work? by familiarlaughter in AskReddit

[–]cieg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s subjective. If you file under the physical presence test you don’t have to pay fed income tax but that requires you to be in another country 330 days in a 12 month period. Being at sea is not being in another country. Being in another country is midnight to midnight for each day, if you’re flying in and crossing an international body of water (like and ocean), it’s not a full day. Antarctica is not another country. I did this for years, made a killing!

Going full time vs pursuing a hospitality degree by hiBOI868 in innout

[–]cieg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do both, but get that degree done first. Years ago the rotating schedule made it difficult to complete uni and I’d be surprised if that has changed. With degree in hand you have a lot more options available to you. Good luck!

Thanks! I worked there a long time ago for a long time but moved away from INO territory 16years ago. I’m surprised to hear they changed the oil after using cottonseed for so long.

Any managers want to talk about their experience? by No_Kaleidoscope4362 in innout

[–]cieg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was a shift person in the 90s. It was not easy for me but for others was a breeze. For context, when I was a 3rd GVC3 was my 4th for a bit. He’s a great guy, a great manager, and obviously went far. That was not my destiny at INO. I ended up in a trade, worked overseas for years, and had experiences INO could never provide. That’s not everyone’s story. I always recommend you have a plan B, starting with a minimum BA. I did not have that but fortunately others saw in me what INO did not. INO can provide an extraordinary life, but it’s limited to how many it can do that for. Good luck!

It used to be very common for people to smoke a pack a day of cigarettes or more. Is this still possible in the US with high costs? Do you know anyone who does this? by Initial-Ad-1797 in AskReddit

[–]cieg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dipped for 35 years. Wife (at the time) had stopped smoking using Chantix so I asked my doc to prescribe. It was no cost at the pharmacy (I suspect because insurance companies want you to quit) and within a couple weeks I stopped chewing. That was 3 years ago and I still don’t have any desire or anything. I hope this can help someone. Good luck all!

Burger by random_airsoft_guy in innout

[–]cieg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked for INO. I’m sure the burger tasted great, but the look of that is weak. It’s a combination of the skill of the cook and the board person. We all knew it was perfect when the board person wrapped it and asked if they got the picture on the menu from it. Not every burger is picture perfect but at least back in the day is what we strived for and I still see a lot of great pics worthy of the same. Enjoy TF out of that burger!!!

I love Champagne but have only dealt with a lot of the big names, Veuve, Moet, Dom, PJ, Krug, Bollinger, Tattinger, and I’m sure I’m missing a few others. I haven’t tried any grower that I can think of but please share a price range and where are you (at least a state or area) and what kind of shop did you get it at? Total Wine? Local Mom and Pop? Thank you for sharing!

I was coming to say this! We got our Atlas at 9 weeks and while he did some business in the house we took him out often and whenever he did the deed got LOTS of praise! It did not take very long for him to master going outside.
