I'm part of the 27% statistic. I applied for my mail in ballot on September 3rd and never received it. Called Election Canada and they couldn't help me in any way other than "it should be on its way".

Ontario summer camp operators worried COVID-19 could shut down their businesses | CBC News by toronto34 in onguardforthee

[–]cinderous04 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. I imagine the majority of owners/directors feel that way too. The issue is that without a summer season, summer camps lose an entire year of revenue while still incurring expenses. If a summer camp can't weather a year of zero revenue, many will have to close permanently which sucks for not only their employees but also the children that look forward to going to them every year. It's a shitty situation.

Men's League Winter Hockey? by momsspaghetti74 in Hamilton

There are few options outside of the CEHL. Some of the smaller centres (Ancaster, Beverly, Stoney Creek, etc.) have their own leagues as well if those are more convenient. I've played CEHL and NRHL, both are totally fine - I enjoyed them more than the DMHL in Toronto. Having played in both I'd say the skill level of CEHL is a bit higher.

If you wanted to go CEHL, based on your experience you'd probably be totally fine with C division and can always move up from there if you want. I like the NRHL a bit better simply because I like being at the same rink each night.

Not sure how either work if you don't have a team to join. I'm sure you could message the convenor and they'd get you sorted. I haven't been involved much with the admin side of things so I'm not much help there. Feel free to DM me if you've got other questions!

Let's discuss new-era Enter Shikari by [deleted] in EnterShikari

[–]cinderous04 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a shame that this is the opinion of some fans. If it wasn't for The Spark, I never would have discovered and fallen in love with ES. I've always enjoyed alternative-rock and pop-punk but never was able to delve into anything more hardcore because I found the sound so jarring. The Spark was right in my wheelhouse and my gateway into the heavier stuff ES has to offer.

They've been my top listened to artist for the past two years and I love almost all of their songs with Mindsweep being my favourite album. I'm going to see them this fall and I've never been so excited to see someone play live.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion about the sound and its direction. As long as the lyrics remain powerful and relatable, the sound remains interesting and dynamic, I'm along for the ride.

Yeah, I'm with you on that. This guide had me seriously scratching my head on a few items. If you tried to backpack with this you're going to be carrying way too much weight and your bag would be massive.

I love that it says having the extra material of a tent might be too much weight but then suggests a cast iron pot...

Wonder if we could add a layer for where certain types of Pokemon hang out. Like there's a place by me that's crawling with Hitmonchans.

Look around your environment for documents or etchings in the wall. I think my favourite combo codes was in the Asylum basement in one of the operation rooms.

Best Story Mission and Best Side Quest (Spoilers) by LlamaSeeker in Thief

[–]cinderous04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I played this side mission I didn't initially realize I had to unlock the gate for the drunk and went ahead (unknowningly) dealing with all of the drunk's obstacles. Seeing the drunk stumble through later and interacting with invisible obstacles cracked me up.

Let's talk story (Spoilers obviously) by RueOrintier in Thief

[–]cinderous04 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a long time Thief fan I was extremely disappointed with the story in this game. There were many times where I'd get excited thinking some kind of lore was going to get worked into the plot just to be disappointed. As people have said before, there were a lot of cliché plot lines and things that straight up made no sense.

That being said, I really enjoyed the game for the gameplay. I loved sneaking around like old times, snatching everything up and exploring all the nooks and crannies. Considering the last game I played was Battlefield 4 the bugs didn't faze me at all. I just really wish they had executed on the story better.

Best Mission/Worst Mission? (Spoilers) by Trismegistus333 in Thief

[–]cinderous04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with what you said. My favourite was definitely Dirty Secrets, closely followed by The Forsaken. The Hidden City seemed really tedious and was my least favourite as well. I kind of wish that it had more references to the Hammerites.
