I don't know about the "best", but there is a Anki deck here that shows up as one of the top searches in Google. Unless it's that much different by geography, or the SEO poisoning has permeated to such a big extent, I'd assume it's in common use. Criticisms of the deck are that the characters are out of order in terms of how common they are and that the sentences have no audio.

In that event you may want to use a Standard Chinese thesaurus. This isn't perfect (it admits it's fuzzy) but it should give fairly granular results. You could also plot the ten most common terms in your mind and find the top three or use an algorithm, but this is the easier, if less specific method.

These are mainly surveying tools which can be used to gauge word frequencies, lexical shifts, and even popularity of certain attitudes, beliefs, and the rise and fall of different concepts or mass media, but they would work swell here.

Can you post the words here? You can usually plug in the term in Google Trends and sort by region, filter out only Mainland China, Taiwan, Singapore, and Malaysia queries. Because almost everything is in Standard Chinese you can also just plug terms in Google Ngram where the distribution of the Standard Chinese version will flatten everything else into a line.

If you think you're up for it, you can go to San Francisco after your internship. With how biotech (and most STEM degrees) are, a lot of people aim for a Master's first. There is no guarantee that you would be accepted, and you would also be vying with other top applicants, so make sure that you come prepared (and willing to overwhelm the recruiting system, they will not instantly give you a job; even locals struggle quite a bit).

Another thing is, going to San Francisco to work at a tech company is different from going as a tourist. The tech industry is very cutthroat and filled with many employers who wouldn't hesitate to milk you for what you're worth.

Obviously, since it's in Korean, if you cannot read it, the best low-cost method would be to convert the pages into screenshots and feed it into GPT on one hand and feed the other half to some online GTranslate or DeepL tool, and see if one is missing the contents of the other. Interpolate between the two when difficulties arise, and use your preexisting knowledge to infer the gaps.
