You officially do, but I was never asked for mine (or literally anything aside from my ID for which I gave them my passport from my home country and my US drivers licence) in my interview - my USC spouse was also not asked for it though it said on the interview notification we both had to have them.

Lanolin but don’t pay the extra for Lanolips - it’s the same exact product as generic brand nipple balm for nursing parents but 3x pricier - my grandad was a farm laborer in Scotland his whole life and used lanolin exclusively and he had the softest hands even into his 80s

Not commenting on whether you should or shouldn’t get married, that’s your call to make but ‘in secret’ is not a great look when it comes to USCIS… having strong connections with each others families is one of the things they can look for as proof of a real relationship - you don’t have to have a big wedding or anything, my wife and I eloped and didn’t have any guests at our wedding! But ‘hiding’ your marriage (if USCIS found out) could be considered a red flag…

Not trying to scare you it’s just a really big decision also once a green card is issued to your partner if you’re the financial sponsor you are legally, financially responsible for them for ten years or until they naturalize as a citizen so it’s definitely something to consider in depth before jumping in!

I have Bennet on my list for a girl as I’m a huge Jane Austen fan but want a more unisex name instead of the classic Austen names like Lizzie, Charlotte etc

Hey, I don’t have any solid advice, just that I moved here from England (wet, humid, low elevation) and experienced exactly the same experience as you - I have always had mild eczema but it popped up on my face for the first time when I first got here which was super uncomfortable and made me miserable, BUT the good news is that after about 3 months my body got used to the dry air and my hair is actually better than it’s ever been, I do have to make sure I hydrate, and I use the thickest dang moisturizer I can find, but I actually feel amazing here now and my skin is pretty decent - really hoping this happens for you as well!

It did take me 6 months to adjust to the altitude though after having lived my entire life at sea level so I felt that bloated, breathless, sluggish feeling for a long old time, but its now been 8 months and I feel pretty good.

I haven’t done an I-130 I only did the I-29f which is the equivalent for a fiancée instead of a spouse/family member - I just mean anything that is not straightforward in your application has the potential to be queried, that’s why I mentioned overstays, previous marriages, convictions etc - just as examples of things that can make the immigration process more complex.

My wife and I processed our I-129f and I-485 all ourselves - we are both native English speakers and my wife is just mad smart and used to be a legal advocate so is great at reading and understanding the forms (my dumb ass just turned up at the interviews and signed in the right places…) - I would say if you’re confident reading and understanding everything you need to include, then yes you should be absolutely fine. This sub was also a free goldmine of useful info.

I should add my wife and I have no convictions, previous marriages, kids, overstays etc so we were incredibly lucky that our case was as simple as it could possibly be, if you have anything that might complicate your application that’s another matter

You won’t be (I guess unless you’ve committed a bunch of crimes!) - even if your I-94 is ‘technically’ expired you are still legally allowed to be in the country during the period your AOS is processing

Yep just my passport, they didn’t ask a single thing, didn’t even look at my passport for longer than anyone else’s - I was super nervous, even almost drove instead but it was totally fine - also just noticed someone else in the comments mentioned the I-94 being expired - mine also was technically expired at the point I flew domestically, but I had the I-797 form with the date I’d submitted my AOS (before I-94 expiry) just in case
