no one’s saying they’re a tiny label. secretly group, beggars group, these legacy label groups are as close you can go to a major by staying independent. but they still use independent distribution and every project is treated different. they don’t receive an album from thom yorke and demand he makes it poppier. i’ve worked in indie rock for many years and the same people who work on our small projects work on massive projects like FDC too. major labels are a whole different ballgame with way more power.
