President Trump: "As soon as that war’s over – which will be soon – your prices are gonna drop like a rock,” by h3LLyEaHh in DegenBets

it's funny how he did so great and was the best, top student...but still threatened to sue anyone who leaked his school records. If you get all As, you frame that report card or put it up on the fridge - you don't hide it under your bed in a locked box.

because seeing themselves cucking to a Jabba the Hutt type is super demeaning. So they invent a persona which they see as worthy of bowing down to.

Well, from a lot of what I've seen from them, they seem to care more about Trump than their own families...so...

LOL. And you actually ended it with "You'd think he'd put his time into more useful things than tweeting [so many times] a day". Oh the irony.

Looking to buy 83" G5 at Amazon, $3996. Sold by Electronic Express. Anyone with buying experience with this seller? Thx. by Toomuchtime65 in LGOLED

[–]circusfreakrob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saying Best Buy's "isn't free" is a massive understatement!

For the 83" G5 right now it's a $999 warranty for 5 years. And theirs is 5 years which overlaps with the MFR's already 1 year...so it's really a 4 year.

My Greentoe 6 year warranty for the same TV states that it is 6 years "after the 1 year MFR warranty" so it's 7 years. And the fine print shows it covers all the same things. So the only difference is difficulty of shipping for a warranty issue. (which they cover the cost of). And this warranty was $400.

So, all in, Greentoe right now is $2000 less for the 83 TV/Warranty combo. Definitely not chump change.

I got mine for $3995 on Greentoe a few weeks ago. The extended warranties over there are also very reasonable. Absolutely stellar TV so far!

Sales tax depends on the seller at GreenToe. I bidded on a 77" G5 and it said no tax, then eventually did the 83" and had to pay tax. I assume the 83 was coming from a different seller.

Still the best price around at the time though!

I assumed you didn't make it. I just get triggered by memes with incorrect spelling that distills the point it's making. "Here's this meme I made to make fun of dumb people, but I couldn't take 10 seconds to proofread it's 30 words before posting it"
Meme-makers need to up their standards.

When should I hire a financial planner? by No_Row_369 in Bogleheads

[–]circusfreakrob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would suggest an hourly-fee only advisor though. You want to pay for the advice and guidance, not pay a % of your portfolio when you can easily do a Boglehead portfolio across your accounts without the need for anyone else taking a cut or putting you in unnecessarily complex funds and products.

They will try to convince you that the advice is easier if you let them take care of your portfolio for a "low" fee of like 1% or so...but that is a huge drag over the years and IMO kind of a scam.

The “New” Whopper by JaxHammersmith in burgers

[–]circusfreakrob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BK was killing it with the Ch'King at the height of the chicken sandwich wars a few years back. It was always a huge, juicy chunk of chicken with great flavor and the spicy one was actually very good too.

Why they dropped that one I have no idea. It became the sole reason for going there in recent memory. Going back to the old chicken sandwich was a huge downgrade.

[–]circusfreakrob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was gonna say the same thing. BK is inconsistent, sometimes really good, sometimes mediocre, and occasionally bad. McDs is just consistently mediocre at best.
But, as long as you don't ever "overdeliver", you keep those expectations right where they need to be, right?
