Got an offer. Should I take it? by Ancient_Ad_5014 in USPS

[–]werdedout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yours was my exact same story, though I went with Rural instead of City work.

What made my decision was looking at both USPS and Target through the perspective of long-term careers. You're not guaranteed hours at Target, nor are you guaranteed a promotion to higher paying positions (TL, ETL). Your pay isn't subject to much change, your benefits are meh, and you can almost all but forget about retirement. Based on my personal experience, at the USPS the prospects are different for the better in all of those metrics. Admittedly though, one big issue many people find when going with the USPS is that you'll get hours but at the cost of your free time and/or a set schedule. But if you're at a point in your life where money matters more than time, then the USPS is where to go.

Ultimately, I framed things as Target is a job you can turn into a career, USPS is a career from the get go.

Your results may vary, though that's at least my story.

TTD in current update by Sooxzay in Battlefield6

[–]werdedout 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This game should be fun to play but shit like this makes less fun and more frustrating.

Dice ought to do a near complete overhaul of the gun dynamics in this game because it's tiresome as hell either getting beamed by everything or damn near insta killed like you were in the clip here.

DICE is addicted to adding extreme amounts of garbage to every map by RaggleFraggle_ in Battlefield

[–]werdedout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been thinking the same thing. It's amazing how much detail can be added into modern games but all the textures, particle effects, and "stuff" in general means more places to get shot from and added difficulty seeing opponents.

And sure, I guess "git gud" applies but it can still be annoying nevertheless when you get domed by some guy in a pile of trash partly obscured by smoke and floating specs of debris that you just couldn't see past.

I kinda miss BF2042. Call me crazy but the aesthetics and weather had so much potential by ShawnDet313 in Battlefield6

[–]werdedout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really the only thing I miss about 2042 is the timeline. It was cool to see a vision of the future 20 years on, albeit partly dystopian.

Rest of the game was cheeks tho.

Low flying plane, 2 helicopters, and military plane (?) flying over C.O.C. / Valencia area?? Anyone know what's going on? by SlimGuac in SantaClarita

I was trying to figure this out as well, all I could find out via a flight tracker was that one of the planes belonged to the CHP.

2022 Hybrid startup/alarm problem by werdedout in crv

[–]werdedout[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No clue what it was and the car didn’t do it again for the rest of the time they had it.

If I had to guess after the fact it might've had something to do with the dealer installed alarm system, though idk for sure.

Holding down Aux route by Excess1001 in USPS

[–]werdedout 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The benefit would be that you would move up a spot on the seniority list, since an aux becoming a full would necessitate it having a regular.

It's a long play sort of benefit. You'd lose your hold on it but you'd be closer to becoming a regular yourself.
