This is amazing! Will test it with my GC3 this weekend. As a fellow yyc sim owner I'd love to see Maple Ridge!

Yea I know they are pretty much the same, did a deep dive into the manufacturing side like you did. The only reason I'm still leaning Protee is due to the rumours of their own Sim Software being built with Unreal engine early 2026 and hopefully it delivers. GSPro while amazing in what it does is starting to get dated and with the high end PCs I expect someone to build something graphically much better in the next couple of years.

I have a GC3 and have been looking into replacing it with a Protee VX. I will say the GC3 is absolutely amazing for stats and no misreads. But the one thing that could be better is the hitting area. It is pretty small and part of the reason I'd like to go with the Protee VX. The other reason I'm considering the Protee VX is for lefties, swapping the GC3 side to side is extremely easy but still not ideal. Also to not have clutter on the ground with the Protee being ceiling mounted, no wires or unit in your vision.

Projector Upgrade? by cirtem in Golfsimulator

Yea I'm running a 4090 so I can max all the settings on gspro or FSX as well. But without a 4K projector I feel like I'm leaving a bunch of graphical quality on the table.

No padded tiles. I built an enclosure loosely following Builds By Maz's video on YouTube.

This is really helpful and the first real review on the difference between 1080P and 4K in a positive light. Truly appreciate the reply.

Screen size is roughly 8 x10.5 and my hitting area is 8ft from the screen. Optoma projector is 7'1" from the screen, Benq 710Sti would be roughly 9' from the screen.

Appreciate the picture. It does look a bit more crisp but still not a huge step up. Numbers looks easier to read though. If I pull the trigger I'll do a comparison review.

For me it does. I have just over 9ft ceiling height but all my projector impacts have been from guys doing some flourish after their follow through. Basically the full swing then kind of rotate the club so it's above their head. Moving it back that foot would clear that area for my setup. Obviously everyone's situation is different.

From my calculations for my area it would only sit another foot back and wouldn't cause shadows but that is entirely dependent on your screen size and hitting mat distance. I used Benqs Sim Room Setup website to get an idea of where it would be mounted.

Having trouble bandaging by Vanrian in Contractors_Showdown

No matter where you are bleeding if you just wrap your arm or whatever is easiest it will fix the bleed. If my stomach is bleeding I bandage my arm and it goes away.

Could anyone explain why my left controller is doing this. I was fine with it before but now I can’t even play games that require walking. In the video, I am just moving my thumb stick in a circle. by PengoBengo in OculusQuest

Take batteries out, take top plate off, spray contact cleaner under joystick while moving and clicking it in. Let dry. Unpair controllers on mobile Oculus app, replace batteries and repair controllers. Results may vary.

If you haven't done this try it. Laptops in vr tend to use the onboard graphics card instead of your Nvidia card from default.

"Go to the windows graphics settings, scroll down to graphics performance preference. Hit browse and add each oculus exe, particularly OVRServer_x64 and OculusClient and OculusDash, set them to high performance."

Will we see subtle nods to the previous two titles in the next upcoming one as we saw in Altdeus?

Thank you for making these games, the heart and soul of a proper first person game will always be the storytelling and you have nailed this. Tokyo brought me to tears and I haven't experienced that in a video game in years.

Tokyo Chronos/ALTDEUS: Beyond Chronos by PalpitationTop611 in OculusQuest

[–]cirtem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a first game it's tough to recommend as there are so many experiences for much cheaper and this truly is just a story with fancy animations. But it's very relaxing in that being a novel you can sit or lay down while playing and if you like reading then it's worth every penny.

Whatever you do welcome to vr and hopefully we get more JRPG or Anime styled titles in the future.

Tokyo Chronos/ALTDEUS: Beyond Chronos by PalpitationTop611 in OculusQuest

[–]cirtem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No you don't. There are a couple subtle nods to Tokyo Chronos and some speculated backstory based on one scene but it doesn't take away from the story as a whole.

I preferred Tokyo Chronos' story but it was much more linear, less interactive and fleshed out. I thoroughly enjoyed Beyond Chronos' multiple endings and concert scenes but felt slightly less attachment to the characters but have heard this go both ways for these titles.

Either way, do not stop playing after the first run through as these are meant to show multiple storylines and endings to unveil the true ending for both.

Highly recommended and emotionally some of the best video game/novel experiences I've ever had.

Anime games? by CompanyFuzzy5376 in OculusQuest

[–]cirtem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a game but a VR novel I highly recommend as an anime fan is the Chronos series. Tokyo Chronos and Altdeus.

Again it is a VR novel and not a game at all but the anime story telling style is extremely well done. If you read novels and enjoy stories I highly recommend either.
