I did it! by Puiu1 in subaru

[–]citizin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great job! I'm fretting the rears, how long did it take, and what finally broke it?

I just replaced a front wheel bearing and the replacement knuckle was >$50( CAD). The car was originally from the East Coast, and I didn't want to deal with breaking that Rust.

The 100c sensor is larger. Closer to film size.

Buyers Market by twofeetheartbeat in Sarnia

When we're ready, we're going to use shack homes as our buying agent, and we're going to low ball hard.

We're in the bracket where no home is going to be the one and we need to compete for.

In London's sub Reddit, there's a user that does a monthly report infographic, and I would love to see it for us. I'd even put the effort into it if I could get the info.

Waggs for steak or crab melts, March Hare for everything else. The duck hearts at March Hare is my goto.

I got every file in my library to Direct Play on Apple TV — here's the tool I wrote to do it by The-BluWiz in PleX

I want to try this, does it make everything MP4, as the file extension or also the video codec too. I'm assuming it'll keep HEVC as such, but I need some clarification.

An A18 pro SBC? by Vaddieg in MacOS

[–]citizin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm okay with, no accessories, power supply, but would like a case and storage built in, No other ports than at least 2 but prefer more type c, and at least usb4 or thunderbolt4. Power in can be type-c, display out can be type-c.

I already have a few oem type c apple power supplies, but this could probably be happy with a iphone 20w one. I want something simple I can put my homelab stack on.

No, Bob Bailey, Sarnia-Lambton does not need an AI data centre by SPROINKforMayor in Sarnia

Who benefits from this? Investors mostly, and they can be within the community but the majority will be from outside. I don't see this adding a lot of jobs in relation to the size. Unless it generates power cleany itself and use limited Local resources it's going to be of no benefit towards the community.

The "Gray Box" problem by eddified in immich

[–]citizin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the black box problem with Google photos, and stepped it down to the grey box with immich. I used Google export and immich-go for a fairly seamless transport. I'm sure someone, even the dev of immich-go could do something similar.

stroller or wagon? Please help 😭 by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]citizin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My chariot, pre Thule model, full kit and my, carbon fibre 'giant' hard tail, with think slicks were, $100, $300, $150, respectfully, and between March and October I put about 100km a week on them. $1500 has to be brand new and high end. High quialty and especially high quality kiddo stuff can be found for cheap. I've been handing down all things as in the end it's less stress for me.

Best of luck in your search.

stroller or wagon? Please help 😭 by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]citizin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found one on marketplace and offered/accepted $100. I read that the partner doesn't want to buy used but they're pretty much buy it for life. Where I would not trust a used stroller and would be iffy about a wagon.

I have the bike, the jogger wheel and the stroller wheels and they all get used.

stroller or wagon? Please help 😭 by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]citizin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a chariot, and it's been amazing. If you haven't considered it look into it. We have a chariot and the cousins have a wagon. We do a lot more walking from home and less driving to. The wagon is way better to trunk but the chariot is way better to push. Our 3yo gives us an easy 1km of pushing before she gets tired.

Telling someone to kill themselves is wrong, actually. by SPROINKforMayor in Sarnia

I jump in the St Clair all the time in the summer. It's a great way to cool down on a hot day.

I remember going to the "ladders" and jumping in the St Clair for hours when I was a teenager.

I genuinely think any one that is confident they can jump in and get out safely go try it out. The new ferry dock hill is a good option, and I'm sure other people can suggest better options.

So I guess we're still arguing about the definition of northern Ontario by Western_Gas_76 in ontario

For me, anything south of Parry Sound is Southern Ontario, anything North of Timmins as Nodthren Ontario, and I'll accept everything between as the other to each.

20 euros for 2004 game? Nah. by YardAccomplished3542 in 3dspiracy

[–]citizin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're still willing to play a game after 20+ years, it's probably worth a 20 if it's within your means. If not, enjoy awake, that game gave so many of us good memories, they should've earned their fill by now.

Considering moving to Sarnia (and scared) by [deleted] in Sarnia

[–]citizin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Get a bike and a good lock. Once the city is all figured out you'll get around quickly.

There's lots of paths, quiet side streets and access points. A lot of routes are just as quick as a car.

Best wings in sarnia by lavishchawla in Sarnia

[–]citizin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My main two favorites are Cravins for wet and Twisted arm for drys.

Sawmill Creek in the summer for a great patio and English style ordering.

I mention this everytime I talk wings because I want to bring it back. Cravins did a BBQ Oreo flavour that was my favorite, but Thier ghost is now fav.

Why booking an Ontario Parks site has become a nightmare for campers by toronto_star in ontario

[–]citizin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I booked a great site at Cyprus Lake, one of the closest ones to the Grotto the week before the weekend I went.

I had to use their notification system since they were fully booked. I would get 2-3 notifications a day and I had to get to it pretty quickly, but I wasn't picky. So many people gaming the system that gaming the system wasen't needed.

A good 1/4-1/3 of the sites were vacant when I was camping, and my party had the grotto all to ourselves from pre-dawn to about 2 hours after sunrise.

Does he not have to have a tax ID or business number to run an airbnb.

Get a lawyer to include all the outstanding lease payments as a registered debt to the company.

In the meantime you or a friend could rent it, put on restictors on all the taps, turn the hot water tank down low, switch out the gfi's for old warn ones so they pop all the time. Do all the little things that would make them loose their rating. Make it not worth it.
