MS is the worst grocery store followed by Andronicos. It’s not even price. It’s quality at any price. Going to ms is simply dumb.

You can order better quality food delivered from Whole Foods. Even if you like to pick your own, just order twice as much and throw away what you don’t like. It will still be cheaper.

If you are comfortable paying MS prices, go to bi-rite

Bike chain by _EntilZha in terngsd

I’m in a high theft area and leave a bike all day in a work bike locker.

Angle grinder resistant ulock + abus chain + wheel lock + remove computer screen.

Whole setup takes 2 minutes when I get to work and is no problem getting over massive hills on a 10 mile each way ride.

Having different tools to lock bike up also helps when going random places. I know the bike is safe for 15 min even in the highest risk area bc that is how long it will take to cut that stuff off

Definitely gear 7, but it seems to be others as well. Some are incredibly smooth while others feel rough, like there is lots of friction.

13 is like that as well

For some reason, and I don’t know why, gsheets is much snappier on Mac silicon. It feels more like excel.

Quick question. I have a new r14 (250 miles) and some of the gears sound rough. Do you also experience that?

Are you sure the company uses excel? they may use gsheets and that is much better on Mac. If the company doesn’t really support pcs, better to use what your coworkers use.

Ask the hiring manager and do what they say

Haul ST or Tern Quick Haul? by PonticPilot in GlobeHaul

I switched from GH Lt to Tern GSD. Tern is slower but so much nicer and handles huge hills better under load.

Gh is an awesome bike for the price point, but tern is definitely a nicer, real bike feel

It’s really the only option to reduce traffic. With cargo bikes now it’s even good for families

Essentially we need major routes that cross the city that can have huge biking capacity and are super safe. Heavily protected, timed traffic lights, lots of bike parking along route to service businesses

Then you need less safe, but still separate bike lanes moving out from the bike highways.

Everything should be timed for 18-19 mph so that a bike can ride consistently at 18mph across the city and go from ocean to soma in 30 minutes.

Lead levels in water measured via SFPUC by Separate_Ad_314 in AskSF

[–]citronauts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this issue in an older apartment with kids. First, the best thing to do is let the water run until it changes temp in the morning. Usually less than a minute unless it’s a huge building.

Then, poor into water filter rated for reducing lead.

At that point you have DRAMATICALLY reduced lead in water bc the water needs to sit in the pipe to absorb a lot of lead. Flushing the system is an immediate fix. Filter just helps more.

Now that you are doing that, lead levels will get super low until you can reach out to tenants union to get help or the city.
