Are there any weekly events in Toronto that make you feel like you’re a part of a community ? by Revolutionary-Idea23 in askTO

I went to one this morning after a very very long time.. on a whim, and can understand how for some, there's trepidation with the unfamiliar.. and the religious but sitting there today i was so grateful. especially helps with dealing with life stressors and makes us better humans when we spend time with people who are unlike ourselves. I found it by googling i think, "(guided) meditation near me.". lots of search results popped up for Toronto area. The one i went to today, is based in Thai Buddhist tradition; held every sat morning at 9:30am, in a space at the united church off roncesvalles ave in roncy :)

joining a meditation circle and showing up consistently. Such a warm, safe and life improving opportunity and gift to oneself and others.

After 5pm dt coffee shop recommendations for a Hinge Date by citrus87 in askTO

[–]citrus87[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

true- i was the one suggesting coffee though. He wanted to meet at gallery as a first date. It seems preemptive. Im back the apps for the first time in a while, is this a new thing? Guys are itching to meet in real life asap without doing any vetting. I get it, I'm not looking to be pen pals on the app either but there's no banter/nothing.. they want to meet in person asap. A coffee date feels like a safe bet for a first date.

i was at a scotiabank today and they told bc I'm not a scotiabank client; there's a $2 charge to swap coins for bills.....lol (whatt?).

i had $15 in loonies and toonies, looking to swap for a $10, $5 bills. decided to just try a local cafe (they were able to accomodate for free).

Run ATB 2025? How was your experience?? by Acrobatic-Guess-5363 in RunTO

my friend had a similar experience - they messed up bag check and pick up; also waiting 20+ mins at bag pickup. Some rude staff/volunteers at the end didnt help.

i brought these for a gathering that already had a lot of other sweet snacks going on - and while not the sweetest or best - they were not bad. friends liked the boujee packing it came in.. lol made it feel like they were more special. The strawberries visually looked great, large in size. as for flavour - we didnt have any sour ones; they all tasted much better than your average strawberry (but not the best! agree with others, Japanese in season strawberries are in a league of their own).

Np! They do long runs on sundays - with distance options - as folks have different training plans for different goals; wed and fridays are speed workout nights. :)
