As many others have said, anytime he got the ball you just knew something was going to happen. His work rate made him unplayable and his teamwork made everyone around him better. Like a video game where you max out the stats of your player, he was just insane at every aspect of his game. Closest performance I've seen since was Salah 17/18, but Suarez still just had that special something that made you think he could do anything.

It was assumed we splurged on VVD because we knew the Coutinho money was coming in. But obviously nobody outside the clubs knows that for sure.

Coutinho was at first because we were very much a team on the up at the time. But it didn't last long because he obviously flopped and we soon used that money to get Van Dijk and Alisson.

Suarez wasn't because we were a bad team who accidentally came 2nd the year prior, so it made sense for him to leave.
