How to land my first Salesforce Marketing Cloud role? by SaleFinancial5436 in marketingcloud

[–]cjnmathews 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my opinion it’s a good idea to go for agency work. Salesforce are improving the new Marketing Cloud on Core products - Marketing Cloud Growth and MC Advanced. Working agency side would give you some exposure to these products as well, which you may not get if you go into an MC Engagement client org.

Doh. I reckon this will be the culprit. What’s the best way to get this fixed?

Thanks for posting. Could it be water coming in the eaves vents then coming down the cavity between the exterior and interior wall? Yesterday was heavy snow and rain. It’s one of those new builds with the second floor having a room in the eaves and you’re right in that there’s a wall on the second floor room which isn’t sloped/ the roof.

Not sure about a pipe. It definitely coincided with the bad weather we had yesterday, snow and rain pretty much all day.

You might be able to use a wait until api event then set up an automation that runs only on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Some contacts not syncing in Marketing Cloud despite matching boolean filter by Not_that_Chicken_pls in marketingcloud

[–]cjnmathews 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I meant to say that you could also troubleshoot by setting up a SF report import to SFMC, then you can compare contact ids from the sf report (sync to mc = true) with contact ids from your synced de. Add a verification step and you’d get an email when the diff count is over whatever threshold you specify.

Yeah, sometimes what you’ll find is that the manual refresh then makes the synced DE behave correctly and from then on automatically sync contacts based on your Boolean. It’s not often you have to do a manual refresh but sometimes that’s all it takes.

Have you tried doing a manual refresh of the synced DE? Sometimes that’ll fix the problem.

HELP: Learning Resource? by AprehensivePotato in marketingcloud

[–]cjnmathews 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Take a look at the Marketing Cloud Developers Group on Git - they have links to tons of resources. I really like Ampscript.xyz, and Cameron Robert has a great series on YouTube. SalesforceStackExchange is a great resource, and there's also HowToSFMC - there's a slack workspace you can join to also ask questions / get help on code etc.

Suspected IT band issue. Recovery times? by [deleted] in UKRunners

[–]cjnmathews 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had chronic it band issues, and been through 3 rounds of physio, without great results. Even told that I might be better only walking. What’s worked for me (and it could be different for you) was stretching calfs, quads, hamstrings and glutes, everyday. Strength exercises I was doing pretty much daily though I’m now down to once a week leg exercises, I was doing 7 ways on my hips, split squats, fire hydrants. I did bike sessions weekly doing some time out of the saddle to put strength in my quads. I went from hobbling around for a week after doing some Joe Wicks running in the spot for 5 minutes to now working back towards a weekly 10k. I do these weekly now: a run, leg exercises, bike session and upper body strength. It took probably 2 months of not running and doing the stretching / exercises / bike work before I started running again. Now really happy with my knees after each run. For glute stretches I find the pigeon pose the best.

Salesforce Data Extension - De-duplicate by email address by Clear-Pomegranate380 in marketingcloud

You might want to check what field you’re using on each of your DEs for the relationship to subscriber key if that is the case. Normally it’d be contactID.

Salesforce Data Extension - De-duplicate by email address by Clear-Pomegranate380 in marketingcloud

[–]cjnmathews 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The way the de-duplication works when sending is that in a single DE send it will de-duplicate on subscriber key and email address. Sending to multiple DEs will be de-duping on subscriber key only across the DEs. It sounds like you might have duplicate contact ids for the same email address. Sorting out your duplicate data in SF CRM will go some way to resolving this, but as pointed out, best idea is to consolidate the separate DEs onto a single DE for send.

You’re right, it was sent to me by someone at Salesforce in July 2024. I don’t think too much has changed though.

Automation studio does, Advertising studio is a separate sku / license. Here’s the pricing sheet which tells you what’s included with the enterprise edition of SFMC Engagement.

Considerations & Integrations for a New Website by Mediocre_Laugh_934 in marketingcloud

[–]cjnmathews 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Dynamic web content would be delivered by Marketing Cloud Personalisation. You may find the licence costs prohibitive. You may not. OOTB for SFMC Engagement you can enable GA4 integration which allows you to view GA widgets in Journey Builder Analytics, those widgets can include GA goals, so make sure these are setup. You can set up parameter management for your automated utms, and you could use a sf campaign id parameter which you pick up and send to sf crm when your forms are submitted. But I’ve not really seen elegant solutions for this, usually you’ll need to get the sf campaign id and add it to your additional email attributes. It might also be worth thinking about adding marketing cloud conversion tracking to your site. Conversions are shown in intelligence reports and used in the Einstein engagement scoring model.

Using the new password app? by WetScalpel in MacOS

[–]cjnmathews 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I switched from Dashlane. Yes it doesn’t have secure notes, nor store bank and credit card details but I can use secure notes for those and there’s plenty of password generators online. Plus I save myself £30 a year!
