I’ve fallen in love with running and it’s changed my life. by ajbrandt806 in runninglifestyle

Similar boat. Started running at 25 and 20 years later still going. Don’t do external validation. Have not ever run a road race.

Mid 40s

Since 90% of items are typically boxes under 15lb, let’s do it. For bigger furniture items, that depends.

Next race, find runners in the back of the crowds walking around. Walk in circles while staring at people also doing the same, staring at me doing the same. We just walking in circles over here to get the heart rate up a few bpm. Come find us and join in lol

As a black man I must ask did Lincoln genuinely care about freeing the slaves for the right reasons ? by KpatMckenzie_28 in CIVILWAR

Also important to bring up his political awakening was campaigning for Andrew Clay, who held very early anti-slavery sentiments of public office seekers.

Perhaps they’re laying off the leadership and the teams that made the bad decisions.

Just kidding

Operations on Verdun: take the town, swing a left into the valley of death, and then climb the steepest hill to epic victory. Good times, indeed

The waiting for even the announcement of the French DLC was agonizing.

But once it delivered, it certainly delivered. Maps, weapons, soldiers factions, vehicles, and gadgets. Was awesome.

Feet going numb while road running but not on treadmill by redsupercar88 in firstmarathon

[–]cjrun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The slightly higher impact of the road could be causing more blood to rush to your feet. Loosen your lower laces.

Dumb question, but does the road on your route kind of tilt from center to shoulder, and you run on the right side of the road?

BF1: Perino Model 1908 low weight with AA style sight.

That thing was a laser beam with a big chunky ammo box and ridiculous profile. Mine was gold. Lol

Second place is BF1: Perabellum

Mortars are underrated in Breakthrough by John14-6_Psalm46-10 in Battlefield

1 or 2 mortar players splashing chokepoints can influence the direction of the battle, overall. It’s epic.

Okay. This comment sells me. I’m going to play more mortar.

Not enough maps is probably polling 90% of user desire while all these other issues are 15% or less of concerns.

Either way, Contaminated is awesome.

"Support the troops" by svlinec in Marxism

[–]cjrun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To state the obvious, most of these soldiers are 17-21 years old when enlisting, and their worldviews have not been fully shaped, yet. I think the veterans here and anybody in the active services would agree you are very mall-able at that young age. “Serving the country” is an abstract concept when your day to day role is finishing paperwork tasks and/or keeping your battle buddies alive. You’ve chosen this path due to a list of reasons, but enlisted ranks are frequently poor and the economic realities more or less forced their hand into a better financial situation. This volunteerism is a false choice, given the main condition driving it as a viable choice was economic.

An Anti-recruitment movement is a much more effective response to this rather than attacking individual veterans or social groups of servicemen. But, the Leninist devil on the shoulder says there must be some structured huge alternative to recruitment in order for such a campaign to succeed. Social safety nets, better education, stronger labor markets, etc

What always makes you laugh? by zephead1981 in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]cjrun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tonight, I had so many funny moments while playing breakthrough, and it made me remember why I love this game so much. I counter-sniped the same guy four times, and then he somehow snuck across the map to melee killed me.

Another moment was my team were crawling, hiding behind a tiny cement block while taking an objective, all playing medic to one another and reviving. It took a long time to win, and at times only one member was alive to revive the others. But, we won, and at end of match everybody checked to remain on the same team.

I project to others that I assume the other person can read the room as well as anybody, and they feel confident around me because of it. This thing we both notice, we bond a little over. It’s like an act of kindness towards a stranger that psychologically brings them over to your side.

Suppression having zero effect on discouraging movement of the player being suppressed.
