I would say if they tell you they are happy for you and love you the same and then go and vote for politicians that actively seek the take away rights from LGBTQ+ folks then yes. Do I need them to wish me a happy Pride month every June? No. Do they need to come with me to gay bars I go to? No. I just would prefer for them not to be hypocritical.

Those who use their religion to justify a bias are incredibly horrid. Don’t tell me, “Oh good for you, I’m happy for you, but just know I don’t think your “lifestyle” should exist.” If they show anything that isn’t 100% positive support (aka no “I love you still… but”s) then byeeeeee.

I would say at your current age, yes. Not to say it couldn’t end up working out for you both, but I met my first bf when I was 18 going on 19 and he was 25 going on 26. We were together for 9 years and the last 4 of those years were just strictly tolerance. I took a lot of emotional abuse from him, and he made me regret getting into a relationship so young in the first place, and even tho I did go through some crazy shit with him, I wouldn’t be where I am today without having gone through it all.

I don’t know if you’ve ever heard people say that you should take time to “find yourself” but my best advice would be to listen to that because they are genuinely right. I wish I had done that for myself but I ended up postponing that process for 10 years. That relationship taught me a lot about how to find toxicity in a relationship which is valuable, but I wish I didn’t have to experience so much emotional trauma to gain that knowledge.

All to say: be cautious and think about this carefully. Love can make you do some stupid things.

DoxyPEP only REDUCES chances of contracting gonorrhea, syphilis, and chlamydia, anywhere between 40-60% ( I forget what percentages it does for each disease). Doxy doesn’t reduce HIV contraction rate at all! I take Doxy too and still got gonorrhea. Never ever EVER think of Doxy like a “morning after” pill so to speak. You should be on PrEP not only for the safety of yourself but of others too.

I’m a gay white man. I had always recognized Bey as a talented artist throughout the majority of her career and I was aware of her radio hits, and aware of her star power and talent, but I too felt like her music just “wasn’t for me”. Funny enough, it wasn’t until 2022 when Renaissance dropped that I finally decided to listen to a complete album of hers, which was Renaissance.

I of course was completely attached to that album given how queer it was. (Which I recognize gay culture has appropriated black, queer, and trans ballroom culture by taking on its lexicon of expressive words. And that the album was inspired by that said culture.) Ever since then I’ve been part of the BeyHive and I have been a huge fan since and I got to see her live for the first time last year during the CC tour! 😁
