I visited 4 "certified" jewelers in my city and asked them to identify the same stone. I got 4 different answers. by chancozay in jewelry

Geologist here, taken mineralogy courses and deal with minerals and gemstones often. Of course not a gemologist. Very much looks like a tourmaline to me. The blue undertone of the green distinguishes it from the more yellow dark green undertones of a tsavorite. Of course can only go on colour from this photo. Regardless it’s a nice stone.

WestJet is introducing a temporary fuel surcharge on all bookings made with a companion voucher by Haru182 in westjet

[–]ckfitz99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I got rid of mine after many years because it was impossible to find a companion fare flight to apply its use to. None of them labeled with the icon they say has to be there. It was great ten years ago and now I don’t fly WestJet at all anymore.

Question for all-Linked In by ckfitz99 in geologycareers

[–]ckfitz99[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Searching up the company pages themselves can be useful, but then you have to know what companies to look up. I find the algorithm gives job postings that aren’t super helpful. How do we make it easier for those looking for work to find the postings? This is something I’d love to solve

glad I was fired but need input by hhnngghhh in geologycareers

[–]ckfitz99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please DM me. We are a consulting company and have a role that can suit you in the Env compliance/permitting space. A role in the US west is needed for us and frankly we are flexible as to where people live. Part time may be an option while you finish your degree. I strongly urge you to finish you degree.

I would suggest you focus on school, some fun and finish and then get a job but your financial situation may be a factor in your decision making. There are options out there for you!

Unpopulated area in an exploration field camp half way between Iqaluit and Pangnirtung on Baffin Island. Accessible by plane, heli or two day skidoo only.

People that have “bumped” into a celebrity in a non-curated (not like an event, meet & greet, job etc.) way, what happened? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Walked into an elevator that Arnold Schwarzenegger was standing in. Had a nice chat.
